Comment:

Very good professor. She clearly cares about what she teaches, and it shows in her lectures. The class overall was fairly easy, with the exception of the fact that we had to memorize the attributes of 39 trees, however we were only tested on that once, and the test was pretty easy. I'd recommend this professor for sure!

I know the definition of hard work . I have been in Honor Society all of my life. I was very disappointed with the amount of stress and overly high expectations she puts on her students. I was unable to enjoy this class because I was not given a second to breathe. It is only a 200 level course but taught at a 400 level.

Didn't use the book once. Class was good. Random assignments throughout the semester, but no tests. Research paper at the end, fairly simple. Easy to take for a science credit.

Comment:

Class is pretty easy, the lectures are long but she allows 3 skips a semester. You don't have to pay attention in class as long as you get the "jeopardy" questions for the test. Only one test, lots of papers, and a simple final group project. I would recommend taking this class with this space cadet. She has 90 degrees so she's smarter than you.

Quite possibly one of the worst teacher at SUNYIT. You spend half the class watching movies and the rest of the class with an impossible to follow lecture. Won't supply the powerpoints to students, so if you miss her speeding through a slide you are out of luck. Definitely not an introductory class as she claims on day 1. Lots of papers to write

If you're love writing multiple research papers, you've come to the right place. If you love a syllabus that is really vague, you've come to the right place. If you're a hard worker long to get a grade of an "A-" that everybody else got, you've come to the right place. If you're looking to spend 200 dollars on a textbook never used, take a guess

do NOT ever take ast 222 unless you are willing to give an arm and a leg. 10 papers 3 of them research papers, combined with attendance, tests, a group project, and a journal just too much work for a gen-ed class. it's only a level 200 not 500 which is what it seems like.

Hard. We were told not to take notes on slides, but exam material was taken directly from them. Class is split between powerpoint and movies. A ton of work is due at the end of the semester, given out at the start. Be prepared to take lots of notes (math, stats, and names). Book/workbook is very expensive and is required to receive the final exam.

she claims that the class is an introduction, yet she assumes that everyone has a working knowledge of things that the average person knows nothing about. a lot of the work due is never covered in class, just handed out and you're expected to figure it out. i wouldn't recommend her or this class, ever.

I think shes one of the worst professors. Not only does she give incredibly hard exams but she never puts texts in her exams that we go over in class. She gives us hours of lectures on sex education and that relates nothing to out topics, and she over uses the "do you understand me" too many times in a class period. Dont take this class!

Great professor really makes you stop and think. If you find yourself a drift in her class its probably cuz you dont have a good grasp of history her philosophy really intertwines with history. Very insightful into many things i dont think theres a job she hasnt had.
