One of the best teachers at HWS. If you are an uninterested, ignorant, person you will fail. Do the readings, they give you the material to read the paper. He is really intelligent so go to his office hours. He's awesome.

Assigns over 100 pages of reading per class which you won't discuss, puts the class behind schedule, does not prepare you for the 6-8 page papers he thinks are "short," goes off on long digressions about himself that waste class time. Unsympathetic, boring, has impossible standards, and makes you read the most pointless books. Seriously, avoid him

He is very intelligent but can be quite intimidating. I felt like he didn't like me and wasn't interested in any of my opinions. I am a solid A student and got Bs on the exams with little explanation.

Johnson is a great prof. if you get his style right away. He isn't going to like you right off the bat and he can be a tough grader but if you write well and speak intelligently in class you can get a descent grade. Some people can see him as arrogant but once you get to know him you realize he's just really smart and reserved. I'd recommend him!

Nice guy but doesnt actually listen to what you say or write. Only cares about his own opinion. The class is a poltics class and so far we have talked about one thing political. It should be an african studies class, not minority group politics

I enjoyed the class and I'm so glad there is a professor out there who likes my writing style! One bit fo advice: lose the early morning classes. Politics at 8:35 is a little hard to handle.

I wasn't thrilled with Professor Johnson. He wasn't very clear in his lectures and wasn't very helpful when asked questions.
