I have a 3.87 overall and physics is one of my strongest subjects, but this class is impossible to 4.0

Charles is a very nice person. He is very helpful and always willing to clarify things, so don't hesistate to go to his office. In the physics based calculus series, rely on your self to understand the material and do as many homework problems as you can. The tests are not hard, but sometimes one of the problems might make you think a little long.

Scatter-brained is the definition which first comes to mind when describing Ardary. He's constantly sidetracking and you find yourself taking a bunch of random notes hoping that you'll come across something he'll quiz you on. It takes way too much effort on the students̢۪ part to try and sort out his poor teaching skills; very frustrating.

If you take this class, know that it is a self study class the way he "teaches" it.

He is the absent minded professor. He uses a lot of car examples which interests me, but not everyone else. He tends to get off track during his discussion. Basically he is easily distracted and his grading methods are a bit funky. I would only take hi

The topic was interesting, but he lets the students completely throw him off tract during class. He basically lectures for 15 minutes and then entertains STUPID questions the rest of the hour. It would be much better if he would limit the discussion to the topic at hand and if students want to dig deeper let them do it at home on the internet!

He started teaching physics 203 at the end of the PHYS202 quarter instead of reviewing stuff for the final. He's not helpful at all. If you tell him something wrong, he just says it's OK, but he takes off points if you write the same thing on your test.

Definitely do the homework, even the problems not assigned, and pay attention in class. If you do those two simple steps, his class is very fair. Plus, he's always willing (during class & office hours) to answer questions. I highly recommend him!
