Dr. Armentrout is a great teacher for mth 169. He kept the class interesting by adding questions to his lectures that you wouldn't usually see in a lower level math class. He is very understanding and respectable. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to take a mth 169 class.

Hes a solid professor. He knows what exactly students find difficult, and spends extra time going over it. We have a day before exam just for reviewing and he gives us study guides which helps a ton! He cares about the students who show interest in learning. Amazing guy

He likes to give a short quiz at the beginning of every class based on the last class. Makes everything incredibly easy to understand, very friendly, and easy to talk to. Would HIGHLY recommend to others who don't like/understand math.

This professor is very very smart! I really wish he had more enjoyment in the class. I love math but when he teaches he can confuse the class and even himself. He gives a lot of help if your don't understand what is going on. He can sometimes talk to fast but if you let him know he will slow down. He is a okay teacher but i wouldn't take him again.

He wasn't terrible yet wasn't amazing. I wouldn't suggest taking his class, his lectures are kind of confusing and he isn't very clear when answering questions. He is open to help, offers many out of class sessions, and a little bit of extra credit here and there. He was nice, yet you can tell he isn't very enthused about his job

This professor is very very smart! However , he makes math so much more complex thann it really is or needs to be. There are little quizzes after each class and they count towards your grade. If you don't get his teaching style, it's likely that you won't, you'll do badly! I would definitely NOT recommend this professor for any math class!

Professor Armentrout's teaching isn't the greatest, but he is a very kind guy and he will work with you if you are struggling. He gives A TON of extra credit which will help your grade tremendously. His tests are very easy and are almost the same as the reviews that he gives out. He does call on random people sometimes which I didn't like.

Wonderful professor! Must admit I had sleepless nights preparing for his class but it was all worth it! After taking his class I was motivated to major in math at EMU. Endless extra opportunities, retakes on exams if you failed and you keep the higher of the 2 grades. Available for help even on weekends and this I know for sure. Great Guy!!

Pros: Super helpful (absolutely available for tutoring), fair, homework not too taxing, good exams, TONS of extra credit, understanding, willing to work with you, funny guy, smart. Cons: May be TOO smart for lower math. I would still be happy to have another class under his instruction. If you need your hand held and mouth wiped, look elsewhere.

I essentially paid the school to teach myself Pre-Calculus. He was completely incoherent in his teaching, and the book is terrible. He would do ok teaching an advanced Calculus class, but NOT pre-calc. I already took College Algebra and Trigonometry, and I STILL had a difficult time following what he was saying. He never simplifies anything.

He was always in a bad mood every class & got mad when people didnt understand & asked alot of questions.he makes u turn in homework on blackboard & everyone always failed it & complained b/c he set it up wrong, the problems assigned didnt match up with the ones he put online! No tests, grades based off crappy homework & in class quizzes
