This Professor is a great Accountant, But a horrible Teacher. Taught the class as if the students have taken an accounting course before. I would suggest another proffesor for this class, as this class is hard enough to begin with.

There are a lot of examples done in class, correlating perfectly to the midterm and final, absolutely packed w meat on every question. Don't take charley unless you're ready to sweat for marks, he does refer to this as a professional competency level course so I imagine that 3352 and CPA prep courses will have a lesser learning curve bc of this.

Great guy but awful Professor the final exam was nothing like what we learned in class and his examples are impossible to read. His lectures are just doing questions that make no sense at all.

so vague. Thats the best way to represent this prof. Barely gives any advice on the format or whats actually appearing on testing as the assignments are all online and the test and final are written. Usually responds "know everything" to any questions relating to any pop quiz,test or final. Biggest regret.

The most boring lectures where 1 in every 5 classes are actually him teaching and the rest being him just solving new material you dont really understand but show up as pop quizzes are definitely a thing. This has been my worst class in the 2 years of smu commerce that i have completed and for the first time i legitimately had to get a tutor.

Nice guy and he really tries to teach the subject well but I know myself and many students felt they learnt more studying themselves at home than we did all semester in his class. His handwriting is really hard to read and he often runs through an entire example which may take half a class only to find his answer is wrong.

Very mediocre prof. I barely learned a thing from him and ended up failing the course. The assignments are very hard and graded extremely tough! I found myself spending time in class trying to figure out what was being written on the board (handwriting is not legible) rather than actually learning.

Charley is the best! He's got a great sense of humour once you get to know it, and he's super smart and easy to talk to. One of the better profs that teaches this course for sure. My only complaint is that his hand writing is pretty brutal, but he tries hard to make it legible! Always willing to put in extra time to help students.

I was a little skeptical of professor Baxter at first, but I actually really like him. He's a good prof and cares about students. He's prett good at discussing the material. My only issues are that the assignments are hard and the text/questions we did in class don't always cover what's on the assignment. Overall I think he's a good prof.

I would say he is nice man, but it would hard to learn in his class. Hand writing is too hard to understand. He will post solutions on blackboard before test, but it's waste of time if you study that; because mostly test questions are conceptions from text book. No assignments makes you hard to review. FUNNY in a quirky way. Random disorganized hears noises. Would have hated him if i didnt do good in the end, start the beginning off on a good foot remember that the using the online program for studying wont help for test do it so that he notices your prepared for # hrs. His different ways to test you are difficult he makes up the exams that week

I'll second that. About 50% of the material on the final was taught on the Monday and Wednesday before the exam. Nice man, very funny, just poor time management. It seems as though he forgot what it's like to be a student learning the material for the first time, because there is no way to cram that much and do well in this class.

Charles is one of the most funniest professors I have ever had at SMU. Add that with his excellent teaching abilities, you have a great teacher. This class is difficult, but if you attend class and ask questions, it is an easy A. Pay close attention to his notes as they can get messy and disorganized. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)

The guy is genuinely a great guy. He'll ALWAYS sacrifice his time to provide extra help classes, etc... Not the easiest class. He does mainly examples in the class and goes pretty fast. You can get behind quickly. Great guy.
