Byers is a funny teacher and is clear during lectures. He managed to entertain me for the majority of the semester. Take good notes and pay attention in class and you will do well on the exams. I recommend this class if you are interested in evolution at all.

Funny guy. And really, his tests aren't hard if you're willing to take good notes and study. The discussion section projects are pretty annoying though.

My first and greatest professor. He has a great sense of humor and makes the information very interesting. Even after lots of studying, his tests are difficult. If you know the concepts and are confused by the wording or just are unsure, ask him because he is extremely helpful and very patient.

He's a funny professor but the tests ARE tricky! Literally, every question on the exams includes "all of the above" and "none of the above." If you are looking for a seriously easy geology class, I suggest GEO 101.

Charlie can be hilarious, he can also put you to sleep and I enjoyed this class even though the tests were tricky. The geology department will be surely lacking without him!! If you didn't take him, you've missed out.

Prof. Byers is so far my favorite prof I've had in three years at UW. He loves what he teaches and makes boring topics seem interesting. He is very smart. His tests are more difficult than they should be, and sometimes studying doesn't even help. It's certainly not an easy A but DEFINETELY worth taking!

He was an awesome professor! he made class interesting, and he was hilarious! The class was pretty easy, and so were the tests if you came to class and took notes. The TAs were AWESOME, if you can, get MaryRuth, she was so nice and helpful! The final was a little more detailed than i though, but overall, and VERY FUN class! recomend this class/prof

He's hilarious and lecture is very entertaining. Tests, however, are pretty tricky. You may think you know the material, but he likes to throw in "all of the above" and "none of the above" in EVERY multiple choice question. Sometimes throws in bogus questions, but that's just my opinion.

Awesome professor and really interesting class. Easy to take difficulty for granted because you basically don't do any work until the exam, which can be pretty difficult. Make sure to take good notes and don't zone out because test questions are one's you probably didn't cover that well. Hilarious guy though.
