I was at ESL 253. There is no system, there is no clarity in the educational process, there is no transparency in the assessments, there is no extra credit. If you have high grammar knowledge, you can take a class to move on to the next one. I do not recommend the teacher to those who want to get knowledge and fair assessment.

Writing assignment is very tough graded. Test is almost impossible, noextra credit, he also out trick question to eliminate possible A. Presentation is one week before final, you will have less than 1 week to work with a bunch of people you never work with or talk to before. His teaching style is very traditional. Take him for Pass/No Pass only

I think he is a nice professor, but you couldn't study a lot from his class. His evaluations of all of in-class writing for you is not reasonable, not specific. Many classmates who don't know how to improve got low points . No grammar teaching. I can't get great progress in his class. Just for pass.
