Offers a lot of Extra Credit. Raised my grade from a B to an A. Tests are hard and you have to read the book to get an A. Will not recommend if taking for GE. Does not cover all test areas in lecture.

Pretty goofy guy, made coming to class real enjoyable. Very little homework but tests are pretty difficult. Covers a good portion of what is on the test in his lectures but you'll definitely need the book or quizlet to properly prepare. Had fun, no legit complaints.

Weekly chapters to read and mini quizzes to go with every few lessons. Take good notes and study well for the midterms and finals. Those count more than the weekly online quizzes. They also require that you understand the concepts rather than just memorizing from notes. He offered good extra credit.

I just had him for spring and he made lectures very fun and interesting. He used humor and relatable situations to compliment the topics in psych. Even made his own notes for us to buy!! I highly recommend the class if you are new to psych. He truly is a great professor and wants every student to succeed.

Professor Ramskov is one of my favorite professors at De Anza. He is extremely passionate about Psychology. Take his class for the lectures, which are pretty funny, and the experiments that you get to do with rats.

didn't enjoy this class he talks about his personal life most of the class time, doesn't cover all the material so your gonna have to study on your own. he does offer extra credit but his tests are kinda tough

he's great but a tough professor ! willing to help you out & always open to extra credit. reason I didn't do so great was because I did not follow through with the material nor attend his class so often. But if I could take again I would, he is very nice outside of class. recommend his personal book for notes & material rather than the regular book

Ramskov is the best psych professor. In every topic, he gives a real life example on the topic. 2 easy midterms and one final (he emails a copy of all of them). You get homework but it's once in a while and they're short. He is a funny and a gem to De Anza. Don't fall for those "hardest teacher. midterms are super long" rates.

He told the first day he would do every thing he could to help us succeed and he did he gives practice tests study guides actual exam questions and as he lectures he will tell you what is on the test. Good lecturer wants you in class because he said it will increase your chance of success. Very funny guy.

I took this class in fall 2015. I really enjoyed his class. Reading the book and taking your own notes from the book are by far THE most important part of the class. His in-class notes don't give much. Tests are LONG (80 Qs) and difficult, I had highest score on the final from my class and that was only an 89 despite the rigorous studying.

This course is all online though cengage and I hated it! Taking quizzes and tests online is fine, but you will also have your essays graded instantly via an online tool which was buggy. Be ready to read and take lots of notes because the exam questions can be obscure and unclear. Also, no interaction with professor or other students. Good luck

He is terrible! He doesn't cover the content in lectures and has long 80 question midterms. NOTHING on the study guide or "practice midterm" is actually on the test and he tends to not cover topics, addresses that he didn't cover the topic in class, but won't take it off the final.

All lecture, no real homework. Grade is solely based on exams, which are 80 questions, and in 50 minutes it is difficult. Lectures help, but you basically need the textbook or you will not pass the exams. Grades on a curve, but still a tough course if you are not that interested in psychology.

Ramskov is an awesome guy he goes over literally every question that will be on his tests in class then after that still lets you make up your tests if you did poorly. Oh and you get to do lab work with rats and someone in your group gets to keep it as a pet at the end of the quarter! taking him for psych 3, he's awesome!

Really enjoyed his class, extremely funny, makes class interesting and gives you the resources to succeed! He offers so much extra credit and has TAs that hold study sessions (super duper helpful). I personally read the book and made notecards using the study guide and breezed through. Not really a stressful class and not a dread to go to everyday

Great and funny guy but If you want to get an A in the class, you have to already have background knowledge before joining. His lectures cover very little of the topic itself so its up to you to READ THE BOOK. He gives tons of extra credit. Tests are pretty hard and you barely have enough time, 50min for 80Q tests. CrashCourse on youtube helps.

Great guy, but not the best lectures. Would repeat the same idea multiple times and would constantly go off topic, usually about sports. Overall, a passable class if you just keep up with the reading, as there really is no need to listen to his lectures. Also curves exams leniently so if you get about 60% right, you should get at least a B.

Honestly Psych 3 was the hardest class. Experiment project, presentations, papers, in class essays, exams, and homework plus the reading. It was overwhelming af, but this class prepared me for transfer. You CANNOT slack off in this class. If you do not understand something, go to Ramskov he tries his best to help you understand. He's great!

I agree that he gives out a lot of assignments mostly Q's & A's, and we have essays, vocab quizzes, take-home exam/essay, and midterms. However, I believe he does this to weed out quitters, or those that-have-time-to-study-but-don't, the kind of professor that needs to know that you understand what you're saying/doing on you research experiment.
