Excellent prof. He had the intuition to know that I was under stress and helped me to redeem my class credits. Almost all of my Poli Sci at UST has been with Rick Young, and I feel more knowledgeable and capable regarding the law. If you're a undergrad in Poli Sci or a MLA student, then you should definitely take Rick Young.

This dude is radical!!! Pretty laid-back for a Professor, but it could just be because he's a Surfer (he also teaches a p.e. surfing class). A St. Thomas alumnus, with a really interesting background. Very approachable, and understanding of students. Class isn't too burdensome, but it's still filled with lots of information.

He is really easy attenance isn't mandatory I got an A-. Both midterm and final were open notes. Ocasionally you'll have to present a court case to the class which he has assigned but u=you will not be graded on it just do it. Be consistent with the court cases and you'll be fine. However, rambles and has monotone lectures are dreadful at times

I almost changed my minor after taking this guy. I'm a transfer student and was having a hard time udnerstanding what this guy expected. I ended up doing fine in the class, but I don't feel like I learned anything substantial in his class.

I've taken everything that has been offered with Young as the professor at St Thomas. If you really are interested in the Law then you want to take anything he offers. He is very knowledgable on the subject and offers opportunity to do things; such as case study, argue fictious cases, dissect and compile....he's a really great prof and his classes are relatively easy as far as work load. He works in the real world so he knows that his students have lives also.

Great professor. Very personable. Willing to work with you if you have problems. If he sees you are working hard but still struggling, he sometimes gives you extra credit assignments. Better than most in the POSC department.

He is a lazy lawyer. If you want to get a good grade, then you definitely need to talk to him. He doesn't grade your paper based on merit, but rather on preferences. He doesn't teach much, but only assign cases.
