Comment:

A bit of a tough grader, but she cares about her students and wants to see them do well. She doesn't always give equal amounts of work (10 pages from Thursday to Tuesday and then 100 from Tuesday to Thursday!), but her classes are always interesting. If you keep up with the work load and participate, you'll do fine.

Armster is a great prof, just make sure you do most of the reading and have at least one thing to contribute to class. Participation is huge in her class. She answers emails quickly and helpfully, so definitely email her with questions about papers/readings/etc. Her readings are quite long, but most can be skimmed.

Prof. Armster is one of my favorite people. The woman has eternal patience and is always encouraging. The class is pretty tough sometimes, but there is never a time when she's not willing to help. Pushes the class a little hard, but knows our limits even when we don't. Has absolute faith in her students. One of my favorite teachers ever.

Wonderful prof. & wonderful person. She inspired me to be a WS major. Had three classes with her, she is a tough grader and expects a lot from her students but you will get a lot out of her classes. She is very passionate and intelligent about what she teaches and cares a lot about her students.
