Great professor! One must get the textbook due to the fact that she allows her students to use the textbook during exams. The test are the same and are meant for students to expand on the topics that were discussed in class(get ready to write a lot). She is all over the place sometimes and gets mad when students don't understand the question asked

Professor Foster is a unique person who teaches a unique class. She is definitely a tough grader, but since she allows students to redraft papers your final grade is up to how much work you are willing to put into the class. Additionally, make friends with other students, as having someone to bounce essay ideas off of is extremely helpful.

This was a great class to start off my experience at URI. Although Professor Foster made sure that there was a lot of reading and homework, the classes themselves were very interesting. Make sure to keep up with the readings and study for the tests and you will do well!

Foster is a great teacher and super enthusiastic, but she grades essays really tough and expects a lot out of her students. She expects participation and in depth ideas about the novels you read. This is NOT an easy blow off class, but when you finally get an A on your paper you will be proud of yourself for working so hard.

Dr. Foster is a great professor, but she is tough. The good thing about her tough grading is that she really makes you want to work for a better grade. A little unclear on her grading criteria, but you can tell she is very interested and concerned about the well-being of her students.

She's always energetic and very nice and understanding. Pop quizzes on readings. No final exam. No textbook. Class time is usually philosophical discussions about art. Some really annoying kids in the class.

Cares about her students and know so much about the school since she is the director of the honors program. She is a tough grader, but this course doesnt have many assignments. Don't take her for any class besides URI 101 UNLESS you're ready to put in 150%. Extremely knowledgable and inspirational. Wants to help.

Cheryl Foster is the single most inspirational person I have ever met in my entire life. You have to work for your grade, but the exams have an easy structure to them. Long but possible to complete in the hour that's given. EASILY approachable. Also, she makes you sing if you are late, which is HILARIOUS! Just be engagedinvolved and you'll be fine

Professor Foster is by far the best professor I've ever had. She holds standards higher than the average philosophy professor, but she is fair. I am so incredibly happy to have taken the class. I got an A but wow did I have to work for it. I am not even a philosophy major and I had to spend more time on this class than any others. WORTH IT!

I Love Cheryl, I never met a teacher, in my four years being at URI care so much about her students and their well being. I took PHL 215 ( HUME) and PHL 103 and I loved her. The class is hard, so do not slack off. But she will sit with you and talk to you and help you get a better grade. Everyone should take Foster before they graduate.

By far the best class I've taken in college. I have never met a professor this engaging and interested in the success of her students. Her teaching style is so versitile that if you don't understand the material one way, she will literally hand you the 100 other ways to learn it! I couldn't have had a better professor and I HIGHLY recommend her!

This woman literally changed my life. I have never had a professor so enthusiastic about the success of her students. Even when you don't go to office hours often, she effortlessly remembers people and talks to you like you've known her all your life. Take a class with her, she is tough, but you learn a lot. You won't regret it. Trust me.
