Really enjoyed this class. After struggling in high school with Spanish, Prof Halka explained each of the concepts -repeatedly if asked- and always made sure he was teaching at everyone's level. Funny comments, would make sure everyone partook in verbal questions, and gave a detailed study guide. If I didn't have a schedule issue, would take again

If professor Halka isn't an awesome professor, then I don't know what the heck is an awesome professor. He is always prepared, approachable, and fun. I have never ever ever been to his class without learning something new. Outside class, he is even more interesting and fun to talk to; he never tells you to leave. His door is always open.

I've heard Prof. Halka is great at teaching the lower level classes. However, in Contemp. Latin American Lit, I had a horrible time. There were only 6 people in the class, and if no one volunteered he got angry. So it always wound up being 2 people who answered questions. Very boring and use of power point is not helpful.

The best professor ever. Never wastes any second of the students' time, extremely funny, smart, plays the guitar and sings so well, amazingly helpful, always uses anecdotes to help students memorize vocabs, always make even the most so so students feel comfortable. All in all, the best language professor ever!
