Terrible in class, homework has no clear grading or help, he does not create his own tests but just takes them from the book or other professors. Weighted grading scale with more on the test than programming in a programming class seems to be a pointless metric.

A lot of students complain about this professor but for CIS265, I thought he was pretty easy. Exams doesn't surprise, he teaches what will be on the exams. His projects are easy. Yes, he mumbles when he lectures. If you follow the text book, understand the language, you will pass this class with an A.

took his class online. google should be your best friend. you can literally find all the questions for the exams and hw online. did not get textbook, i passed it w an A and i learned absolutely nothing. do not expect him to return your emails. very hard to reach. if you take his class online you should be able to pass w an A with almost no work.

Lectures are terrible and boring. Very hard to understand. So very unclear on what is expected of you it makes the class unbearable. There is a semester long group project that isn't bad but he is no help so you are on your own.

Dr. Lin is a walking amalgamation of all the very worst traits and tendencies an instructor can have. He's unclear and unhelpful. A terrible communicator. Uninspiring. Unmotivated. The two worst themes recurring throughout his course were: extremely disjointed assignments and lectures, and very poorly worded correspondence of every type. Avoid.

Horrible. Mumbles off of powerpoints for every class, impossible to learn from. At time he jumps off into tangents that are hardly related, design principles, programming concepts, project management, finance?? And everything on the tests are in much greater detail than lecture. Dont get me started on the group assignment, thats another story

Unintelligible. Accent is too thick, he mumbles and trails off each sentence, and always repeats the last word. Answers students' questions vaguely at best. Stubborn when shown wrong. Syllabus was not followed. But, lenient on due dates and grading, and test questions (& answers) come straight from web practice tests, and he allowed a cheat sheet.

Absolutely worthless. Mumbles everything he says. Cares so little about what's going on that half of us have cell phone videos of him sleeping through presentations. On the plus side, I got a B while showing up to only about 40% of the classes.

Very difficult to understand. I can see how he is a better teacher with upper level courses, as you already have to have a basic understanding to take harder courses. However, in an intro programming course, it should be easier to understand the material. Overall, skip him if you are looking to take CIS 260.

he's horrible, u cant understand a word he's saying, i believe half of the words he says are in chinese or maybe he's just mubbling, i'm not really sure. He doesn't care about ur questions and even when he tries to answer them they make no sense, my advice STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESOR if u are actually intending on learning something
