Goodness people...Chip is wickedly awesome! Yeah, he rambles about weird things, but if you take notes, attend the class (REGULARLY!), do the homework, and study for not only the tests but for the weekly quizzes you'll be fine. Tests are all short answer, but they actually make you THINK! He offers LOTS of help if needed! GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR!

Pretty mean guy, really boring. You'll read about 10 books and he'll get angry if you call them "novels"--constantly critiques everything you say or turn in. Very cluttered thought and teaching process--and this is what he tests you on since there is no text book. Write down everything he says, and maybe that will compromise half the test.

I heard the man speak for 1 hour today while attending a Summer Scholar Workshop. I will be a freshman at upstate, and this was a "sample" course. Absolutely the worst teacher i have ever heard. Said the earth was billions of years old, told us random, useless facts about the earth and ocean, has studied the earth so much that frankly, its weird

Arrogant and not at all concerned with his students. Instead of using helpful teaching techniques the focus of most classes was on busy work and stupid quizes to meant to punish those who did not attend. Vengful and mean and should really have picked a profession where interaction with fellow human beings was not necesary.

He is a really nice guy but he just didn't seem to do much for me. His class wasn't bad because we did everything in groups so if you didn't understand something (which is very usual) then there were still people there to help you.

Dr. Green's method of teaching is horrible. Almost my entire class has issues with him. He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. Basically he expects way too much from his students. From 2/22-3/3 he assigned 2 papers 6+ chapters of text reading+ 3 chapters in John McPhees basin and range.

I think green's a great teacher, he's hilarious and loads of fun. He's a really nice guy, and gives his class his home # if they have any questions and actually expects you to call. He is extremely difficult though, he expects a lot, and hates complaints. The class is small too, we went from 10 to 6
