Comment:
Dr. Campolo teaches what he wants you to know. No Aristotle, but lots of other good Ancient Philosophy. Class is really easy, but you can get a lot out of it if you come and participate. He really wants participation. Don't show up late or you'll get a really bad grade.

Comment:
Chris Campolo has an affinity for Platonic dialogues, without much extension of their philosophic significance. However, he sparked a passion in me for the ideas of the ancient Greeks, and to that I owe him. He's an affable man, I hope to smoke pipes with him one day (tobacco of course).

Dr. Campolo is great! His classes are very laid back, very discussion heavy (if you don't talk you won't enjoy the class as much), but you have to show up/do the reading/be on time. If you are pre-med I definitely recommend Ethics&Medicine!!

Dr. Campolo was one of my TEC professors and he made the class. I throughly enjoyed his lecture, class discussions and talking to him during office hours. He is hilarious and smart as hell. He encourages students to speak up and makes it easy for them to in class. Very encouraging and comfortable environment.

Comment:
A fun, sometimes quirky professor. He seems to enjoy teaching philosophy more than he likes doing it. A natural with students. His classes are entertaining but thought-provoking. He is a political philosophical progressive with a libertarian streak, but he gives conservative students a fair chance to articulate their views without judgment.

If you enjoy discussion, writing brief summaries about papers you have read (1 page max), or are interested in being able to actively engage a topic and freely bring up questions Campolo is the instructor you want. Great guy in and out of class.

Dr. Campolo is A true credit to his field. A fantastic discussion moderator. Encourages students to speak their mind in any way they like. Everyone's opinion is considered in class discussion. Great stories and a really fun guy. Stay on top of your work and don't skip class and you will succeed - and you will want to take him again and again...

Chris is a great teacher. He makes the material interesting and entertaining. He's very strict about tardiness. There were only a couple of writing assignments all semester and they were easy. It's mostly lots of reading. Overall I really enjoyed the class.

Chris is an amazing professor for intro level classes. Unfortunately, it seems that he would rather teach material that provides for entertaining discussion than the essential texts of a particular field. In many ways, it seems like he would rather have fun than help students.

i took ethics and medicine. one of the most interesting classes ever offered. the class is mostly based on readings, typing up summaries, and discussions. he tries to get everyone involved in discussion, arguments, and sharing insights and related stories. i once called him dr. campolo, and he said to call him chris.

Attendance and timeliness are his two biggest pet peeves. Doing all of the work in the class almost guarantees making a B or higher, but it can be difficult to make an A. Doesn't assign reading until the class before they are due. Assigns a large amount of busy work.

Chris lets you call him by his first name and holds a unique discussion-based class. However, in both of the classes I have taken with him there were a few people who got comfortable talking on the first day of class and would never shut up throughout the rest of the semester. He should maybe try lecturing once a week to curb it.

He was honest on the "BS" aspects of journeys. He also placed a unique spin on subjects that may have been considered boring before. Journeys was interesting because of him.

Chris is a true credit to his field. He brings a level of discussion to the classroom that is rare on a college campus. His commentary is insightful and his teaching style is uniquely conversational. He is by far one of my favorite professors and people. Chris truly embodies the liberal arts experience.

This is a relatively fun and interesting class; it's a great way to start the day! Chris is a good lecturer/moderator if a bit uncompassionate. Do your work on time and come to class every day and you'll get on his good side. E & M is definitely a class worth taking.

He's probably the best discussion moderator at Hendrix and seems to really care about articulating and sharing ideas. Sometimes it is annoying how finicky he is about attendance, lateness and paper formatting, but he's still a great teacher.
