Terrible professor. Really knows how to make you feel bad about everything. When my parent died he was still rude. Generally gives you good life advice but is never nice or kind or cares about anyone except himself and his view of how theatre ought to be.

My only regret is that I had fundies with Leslie. If I had taken it from Chris, I would have asked him to be my advisor.

Thank God Chris Connelly is gone from Grinnell - one of the worst people I have ever met. He's not a bad professor; at first, he almost seems knowledgeable. Stay with him, though, and you'll realize he repeats the same few boastful stories and picks obvious favorites. He's simply a very self-centered man who doesn't really care about his students.

His 300 levels require a fair amount of work. Chris is a fantastic director, though many of his critiques show that he doesn't always pay close attention to your work. You have to learn his game--he always believes he's right, and so you have to learn to accept some suggestions while ignoring others. I've grown as an actor because of his class.

He's a cool guy and a very good director. He'll always try to intimidate you the first day of class, but don't let that scare you away. Take his class, it's demanding but fun.

He is frustratingly opinionated and unwilling to accept others views on anything. He doesn't back up his information with fact.

I disagree. I do not think he is sensitive to all students. I also think he has favorites and does not give the best advices for courses to take.

Chris sets you up to fail so that the successes are more significant. His demands a fair amount form his students however his political bent and tendency to direct rather than teach sometimes get in his way

Chris is a breath of fresh air. He will you get you thinking in new ways and build up your confidence. He may look like a grumpy old man, but he's one of the kindest, most sensitive professors I have ever had.
