Comment:

I took her for African American lit & I loved her. She is very respectful and understanding of issues African Americans face. She doesn't sugarcoat the maltreatment that black people had to endure. Sometimes we get off topic but that's a good thing because we have a chance to have great convos. I would take her again! Go to class most of the time!!

Had her for honors colloquium. She's very nice and open minded, but vague on what she wants on papers. Her entire class is writing so if you don't have perfect grammar you're screwed, and sometimes you're graded very harshly on papers because she doesn't tell you what she wants, which is the con of such an open minded class

I had her for FYE and she was great! She led a lot of class discussions on important matters both within the university and outside of it. She can be pretty funny but also knows how to be serious when the time calls for it. She's done a lot and has some interesting stories to tell, and I'd highly advise taking the time to listen if you have her.

Amazing. She has a lovely personality and is very relatable. She cares about all of her students and is up to date with current events. Extremely knowledgeable about a wide variety of things. Helpful professor, good instruction, very interesting lectures, and a genuinely nice person.

I loved her! She's a white woman teaching a Pan African course and did great! She is super nice and you earn what you deserve. She is very clear and helpful. Not much homework. Pop quizzes are easy if you attend every day. NO TEXTBOOK!

Nice lady. Had her for first year experience but she basically turned it into her black experience class. Defeated purpose of taking the course. Didn't have a textbook. Attendance is mandatory. Not many testsquizzes. Grades strangely: I got As on most assignments but ended up with a B- for my final grade....??

When "the standard" Eng class I needed to take was full, I was put into PAS lit instead. It opened up a new world for me. It will always be one of my favorite classes. Chris was a wonderful teacher & paved the way for my interest in other PAS classes w the great Okantah. Thank you for introducing me to Zora Neale Hurston & others!

this woman is absolutely amazing! kind, open minded, understanding, smart, interesting. gives unannounced T/F quizzes about class discussion and reading material so make sure to go to class, thats not hard tho, its always fun! make sure to take one of her classes before you graduate! everything you learn is interesting and relateable.

You will REGRET not taking her for Writing. She is extremely nice, open minded, knowledgeable & just all around fun. A lot of class discussion, everyone is engaged in her class. I hate writing normally but she was too awesome I rarely skipped. My entire class RAVED about her on our evaluations & to each other! Best professor ever, hands down!

had McVay for AAWomen's Lit. Very entertaining teacher and knows her stuff. She is available for help and she cares about her students. The reading load is pretty heavy, but the quizzes are very straight forward. Midterm and Final are worth 50% of your grade and are take-home. If you do the readings and take good notes in class, an A is possible.
