Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend showing up. The lectures were pretty interesting. It makes quizzes and tests much easier when you actually take notes. She gave us a study guide for every exam and they were identical to the actual test. She will let you make up tests/quizzes. She tries to help and she actually wants people to pass.

Great class if you are into kindergarten craft projects. Lecture is a wreck, if a doctor saw your (attempted) notes from keeping up with her chalkboard scrawling you would be on anti-psychotics in a minute. Stay away.

Taylor falls under 1 of those rare categories of teachers who are brilliant while at the same time being able to speak to her students in a comprehensible way. Her classes do require attendance and participation but she is willing to be flexible with deadlines if a bad situation should arise. Her only flaw is that she can seem a tad "stand-offish"

Dr. Taylor is one of my favorite professors. He lectures were very interesting. She is willing to help, she will look over you essays and study guides, take advantage of this! This is not a class you can take and expect to get by doing nothing, but it is really interesting and she makes it fun.

I took her for History 203 as well and immdediatly got registered into her 202 class as soon as it opened up. Very good professor, one of the best I have ever had. Very helpful, all exams are essay form, clearly explains the notes and makes every student feel as if they are of the ut-most importance. Always willing to help you out.

During the second half of the semester, my textbooks have been my teachers. Taylor and her graduate students treat our class as if every one of us is a History major even though the class is a Gen Ed. I can't wait for the semester to end so I never have to do work for this class again.

She is willing to help when asked and knows a lot about history. However, this class had an ABSURD amount of reading to do outside of class every week. Tests were full-blown essay questions and her and her grad students were VERY picky graders. It is hard to write two detailed essay questions with an intro and conc. in 50 minutes. Not recommended.

Class is OK. It is a lot of powerpoint with lecture. She is a good speaker. Lots of work at home and essays but she will look at all drafts of material and help you whenever she can. I would take her for a HIS course again.

For me this class was very boring. I tried hard not to fall asleep. She did try to make the class as interesting as possible. She is a good teacher and helps you understand the material. The class is pretty easy as long as you let her proof your papers. 2 papers, a midterm, speech and final.

Take her for history! I hate history, but she knows that students don't like history and is very helpful. You do need the books, but don't read them until the test guides are given. They give all that will be on the test, but you better take good notes. Also, don't be stupid- she proof reads everything before grading - DO IT - easy A for sure!

There was a lot of note taking during this class, but it helped you write your essays well. The essays were not hard and the tests weren't hard if you studied a little. I made an A in this class and I am not a history person. Overall, I liked professor Taylor a lot.

I didn't like her at all, but as a class, it wasn't hard. There were only 3 assignments and 2 or so tests. She grades kind of harsh for a gen ed., but as long as you take really good notes, she's not a bad prof.
