Christine Iwanicki is a unique specimen. Don't expect her to make eye contact or care about you this semester. She just gives you 6 papers and a whole lot of passive-aggressive comments. Lectures are boring, she is boring, the content is boring. She makes you buy the book even though you don't use it. She's an average grader, though.

her class is very very boring but one thing you should know is you will pass it with a A. All you have are essays but theres so much editing you can do i basically got a A on every paper. She was a VERY boring professor and took entire class periods to read stories to us like we were incapable of reading on our own. Besides that, the class was very easy. Sometimes the grading criteria wasn't clear, but I got A's on all of my papers and passed the class with no problem.

extremely boring class. Do not take this class unless you do not want to become a better writer. We alternate between the computer lab and classroom. In the class all she does is read papers that were previously written. she freaks out if you leave class even to go to the bathroom. Attendance is mandatory and she will go on rants about being absent

This is the absolute WORSE teacher I have ever had in my life. I could teach this class better than her. She's not clear on grading and wastes soooo much time in class. every class day is switched off so on the days we're in the class room she emails 3-4 long papers to you and reads them out loud as if youre incapable of reading.

Her lectures are long and kind of a mess. She doesn't allow for any discussion and I dread going. She's specific about absences. There aren't any tests, just papers which is nice. She's also really lenient about due dates. Overall it's her horribly boring and dry lectures that made this class horrible

She is a pretty easy professor as long as you go to class. She HATES when your on your phone and threatens you with an absence if she finds you on it. The class is mainly lecture, reading over other students papers, and typing in the lab.

Overall, it's a pretty easy class. Do your work and you'll pass. She's a very rude, inconsiderate teacher though. Her entire class is lecture and she talks to her students as if we're idiots. We do the same thing every single day. Very hard to go to class everyday, but she takes attendance, unfortunately. Be prepared to dislike your professor.

It was an extremely boring class. We did the same thing every single day. One day we wer ein the class going over peoples papers, the next we were in the lab writing. She talked way to much and was very boring. She makes no eye contact when talking to the class and is not very considerate when it comes to her students.

I never been so bored in a class before in my life. We did the same thing every meeting one day we were in the class the next in the lab. It was sooo hard to stay awake in that class it's not even funny. All we did was write essays so it was pretty easy. good thing is there were no test or quizzes, but this class is anything but interesting.

She annoyingly rambles for most of the class period. You do the same thing every single day. No homework. No tests. Just essays. She is a horrible, inconsistent teacher and doesn't teach anything. It's easy to do well if you put effort into the essays, but dealing with her for a whole semester is an entirely other issue..bring ibuprofen.

I cannot express my frustrations in 350 words- I would NOT recommend ANYONE to take a class with her! She was understanding about absences, but was not a fair grader and her lectures were useless. You may think you can handle her class but believe me, take it with another professor if you must take it! Don't even take the class for that matter!

She got fired for a raging alcohol addiction that caused her to skip out on the classes she was supposed to be teaching. Then she sued WIU and now she's back. Just thought I'd be the one to say it. However, alcoholism is no reason not to take a prof. But there are so so many reasons not to take her it's amazing. Irresponsible, unorganized, etc.

I have never been more upset with a professor as I was with Iwanicki. I failed this course; I could not stifle my emotions and flatter her with another paper because she took it upon herself to judge me for a personal issue we had talked about and contact my other professors to talk about me, an obvious attempt to affect my grades in their classes.

Dude, Prof. Iwanicki is a good teacher. Everyone writing these comments needs to just relax. ENG180 was very easy. Assigned papers, that was IT. NO quizzes, tests, homework, nothing. A total of MAYBE 20 pages of written papers ALL SEMESTER. As long as you can write DECENT papers (which you get tons of class time to do) I would DEF. take this class.
