Comment:

Professor brown knows what he is talking about but does not know how to present it in a simple way to understand. The tests are very very hard. I would recommend finding a different professor before taking him. However his grading scale makes it to where you can score a higher letter with fewer points. A 60 is a C

Comment:

Didn't understand anything the whole semester. All he does is lecture, and his lectures are incredibly boring. It's not the most interesting of topics, but still. You have a few pop quizzes that he tells you about before hand and then the tests are all you're graded on. The tests are really hard too so its hard to get a good grade in this class.

Dr. Brown was an interesting fella. He has a good heart and means well but his class is very difficult. He is not responsive so if you need to get him on the phone be prepared to have to call multiple times. Also doesn't do well with returning emails. This class is tough. He does offer a take home test that saved my grade however. Gave a few bonus

Like another student said, the only reason I got the grade I did was because he randomly left the country and our final was online. The final replaced my low test grade and bumped me up to a B (which is a 75). Very hard class and a very poor teacher. The days that no one shows up, he takes attendance for bonus.

Absolutely awful, lectures forever and is always off subject. tests are the devil himself. homework is alright tho. literally the only reason i passed was because he went out of country and gave an online final.

Test are extremely hard, homework is easy. Will not email you back. He lectures all class and does not stop for anyone or anything. He does however give powerpoint slides on blackboard. If you have to take him then i would highly suggest getting and READING the book and studying the powerpoints. Arkansas State needs to bring in better professors.

This was the hardest class I have ever had. The online version is awful. You cannot see the videos and he doesn't use a book so it is almost a lose-lose unless you already know the information. It is a very hard class and I recommend taking it in class if possible or trying to find a different teacher all together.

I recommend you to choose someone else. He goes over PowerPoints in class but there is a lot of information that he doesn't go over. Therefore, reading the chapter is very much needed in order to understand. If you're looking for an easy A he is not the professor. He teaches as if you already know the information.

Steer clear from this professor. He is very difficult to keep up with during lectures and his tests are out of this world hard. Although attendance in class isn't mandatory, if you miss one day, it's basically missing half of an entire chapter, he teaches very boringly also. Would not recommend.

The class is so boring, he has a serious attitude problem and my mandatory SLA teacher is Chinese and he doesn't speak English very well which confuses me even more. I think I'm going to drop this class.

Dr. Brown is a great teacher. Economics could be boring, but he makes it interesting. He does cover a lot of material quickly, but always asks to make sure everyone understands. His tests are challenging to say the least. If you are wanting an easy A, take someone else. If you're looking for an invaluable learning experience, take him.

He is not the worst professor by any measure; anyone that thinks so hasn't been in college long enough or has been very fortunate in their choice of professors. His classes are tough, however. He's really energetic in class. Lewis Black of economics, anyone? You can tell he enjoys the subject which is part of being a good professor.
