He gives a lot of really interesting reading but his class is sooo lecture heavy for most of the semester. This makes the class boring and confusing because his lectures are hard to follow; he goes off on many tangents. He is available outside of class, but his feedback on essays is often just as confusing though he is an easy grader.

While Professor GoGwilt himself was a really kind and funny guy, his class was incredibly difficult. Not only were the lectures incredibly dry and dense, but a lot of difficult readings were required and we constantly had to do written responses on them. Overall, I struggled intensely in this class, and I wasn't the only one. Too hard!

Gogwilt was a caring professor who gave me good feedback on my essays that helped me to improve my thesis for the final paper. The class is not easy, but you will walk away from the class learning how to better evaluate complex texts! I really recommend starting your essays really early, because the texts that we read in this class were not easy!

Honestly one of the worst classes i've taken here at fordham. Mix of the topic (texts and contexts) and professor. Insanely boring. Get ready to participate

Christopher GoGwilt is an angel. His sweet, soft Scottish accent will carry you in the world of post-colonial literature. He also has an irrational love of Joseph Conrad. I also think he can read Malay. Anyway, he is fantastic, and I implore anybody interested in comparative literature to take him.

Professor GoGwilt is a really nice guy and a very helpful professor. However,he assigned a ton of reading(not unexpected for a novel class though) and sometimes class was very boring. He isn't too difficult a grader, although the assignments could be vague.I would recommend Professor GoGwilt, but only if you find the material interesting beforehand.

Prof. Gogwilt is one of the most helpful profs I've had at Fordham. He is always available during office hours. He is very fair with grading. Oftentimes, his class gets confusing, but he is very willing to help. I recommend taking this professor if you can.

After having Yvette Christianse, you will appreciate how organized this man is. Always hand things out in a timely matter. Not a bad class, semi easy grader on papers, and just nice and easy going in general.

I had Professor GoGwilt last year for close reading and thought his class was fantastic. He's a very nice and approachable professor who will go out of his way to help you, and he makes his lessons clear so papers and readings become easier. Very intelligent and friendly. Take him!

gogwilt is a very nice and intelligent professor. our class theme was old world vs new world and i must say i learned a lot about old world traditions in different cultures. the only negative was that class got boring at times becuase most of the kids didnt read. take this class if you want a managebale, low stress course. easy grader too.

ridiculously boring, i regret taking this class. his grading is decent, but i can never concentrate in his class because his voice is very just plain monotone and it eventually just makes you sleepy. 4 papers, midterm and final, however, you have to do the readings. i wouldnt take him again

Bring a hearing aid to class, because the man is monotonous and won't speak up!! he goes under this whole "i like to challange my students" but over all is a very nice man, and if you show interest and attend office hours, he's really willing to help and work with you. as hard as it is, try to participate, he appreciates your interest.

Goggy likes to lecture until you fall asleep, then ask a really ambiguous, unanswerable question and wait for someone to respond. When someone finally gives in and makes up some sort of response, he tilts his head and stares at them in silence for a few minutes. Then he moves on.
