Doesn't teach just talks about random things. You have to read A LOT and basically teach yourself.

Easy class. The class time itself is pointless. He rambles on about whatever he's thinking about. 3/4 of the tests were open book. Have to read every chapter of the book and do the review questions, which count as your essays for the tests. Awful class. Didn't learn anything but it's an easy A.

Great professor. He sometimes gives open book exams but you can always correct the wrong answers. Easy class, as long as you show up. You'll definitely pass.

Horrible teacher. Does not go over material in class at all, just talks about whatever is on his mind. His class is definitely a self-taught class. Would never take another class from him again.

Awful Professor, it is for sure a "teach it yourself" class. Every discussion we had had nothing to do with Sociology. This class required tons of homework/classwork.

Overall I am thoroughly disappointed with Professor Hoeth and this course. He's a nice enough guy, but enjoyment means little when you're dependent upon a grade. The entirety of the material must be self-taught at home, and class time is spent in random discussion about everything under the sun, because "it's all sociology!" -.- Baloney to me.

never a dull moment in this class.Hoeth is hysterical. He is helpful if you stay after class, however was not easily reached threw email/ phone. The class is not hard if you keep up with the work. The workload is moderately heavy. But its college what do you expect. I would most defiantly take another class

Nice enough guy, but he was all over the place during class. He couldn't hold a single train of thought and follow it through to completion to make a point. He constantly told stories that had nothing to do with the material we were learning in class. I learned nothing from coming to class, only from reading the book from cover-to-cover.

Nice guy, funny but very unorganized, I feel like i've learned nothing all semester. He jumps around with his thought process, I think he has ADHD. However he tests directly from the study guide which is great but he requires a lot of effort doing essays for every chapter as homework. I wouldn't take his class again.

This guy was an entertaining speaker and I thought he was hilarious. His exams were straight from the study booklet so they were a breeze.

Very nice guy but I was angry at the end of every single class thinking I had paid all that money to learn nothing! He had no control over the students and everybody attending knew it.Half the class would leave at break or not show up on test nights knowing they could just make it whenever since he had no rules or structure!Never Again!

I felt dumber leaving his class then I've ever felt in my entire life. I learned nothing during his lectures and to think about it, have not learned anything yet. If this class ruins my GPA, a letter is going to the dean

It's inexcusable and frankly shameful that this man is allowed to teach at a college, given the exorbitant amount of money I paid to attend his rambling, useless class. This class was a waste of time and cash, and has torpedoed my GPA. I honestly would have been better off postponing my graduation until I could get another professor. Shame.

I really wanted to know what i paid for at the end of the semester. this class was the biggest waste of time and my money. his lectures are never kept on the topic and always vere off to some retarded story he has. hes useless as a professor and should not be allowed back anymore.

Prof Hoeth is under-rated. He's not a bad teacher. He's a little off track at the beginning of semester, towards the end gets a little more interesting. He does put on quite the performance. Overall, not a bad class.
