Dr. King is a great teacher. Hes so sweet and genuinely wants you to succeed. If you want to actually learn in his class though you have to be dedicated to it and actually put in the work. All the homework and test are online so its easy to just not care and chegg everything but the end of the year you have a proctored final so try to learn.

He is a good teacher. I loved his the way his class was set up. Everything is done through Mcgraw Hill connect. The lecture are time consuming but if you put the effort into it you will get an easy A. The final test has no weight, I could have passed the class even if I skipped the final. The due date for all assignments is the last day of class.

Totally didnt use the grade shown on canvas, very clueless when it comes to lectures. Questions? Dont ask it will take him rambling for a few minutes to even a halfway answer. Didnt learn a thing, started with an A and ended with having to retake the course

Dr. King's chemistry classes are not hard. If you're continuing to organic, I would not recommend. If you're just doing 1& 2, definitely take him! He cares very much and is super quirky.

I had him for chem 2 & would not recommend to anyone taking past chem 2. I made an A but learned absolutely nothing, all the homework and test are online. I never paid attention in class and still made an A in the class. But if youre trying to learn then do not take him. He's really nice and willing to work with you on dates.

I honestly do not know what to say about this professor. The good thing is he doesn't take attendance and you can pass the course if you do all the work on Mastering Chemistry. I failed the final because it was proctored and still made a B so...

I think I went to class a total of 6 times and made an A. Everything you do is on mastering chemistry and at home. There is one test in class on mastering chemistry and the final on mastering chemistry is in class. He is extremely understanding and extended every deadline we had if he thought it wasn't covered enough.

Dr. King is a very nice professor. If you have questions he will answer them, it just may not be super clear. Many people will go through the class getting an A up until the final. All the tests are online with google there to help you, but once you get to the final you have to study hard to make an A. My tip is GO TO CLASS.

Hes a funny guy but I havent learned a single thing in lab or lecture. Hes helpful in lab if you have questions though. Everything in the class is online. Tests, homework, everything.

Comment:

All tests and homework are online on Mastering Chemistry. The only thing to beware of is sometimes the questions on assignments are more complicated than the way you learn in class. If you are struggling he is very helpful about giving you more time on assignments or helping you in his office hours.

DON'T buy the $50 lab manual, we were told it was mandatory in our syllabus and on the first day of class then got handouts every time and never needed our manual once. He said there would be a prefab quiz each time on what we read in the manual before coming to class but there never was. Show up and complete the handout and you'll have an A.

I had Professor King for lab and he is a great teacher as well an interesting person. He is willing to help students and provides lab worksheets. He is very helpful with make up work/labs as well. I learned more in my Chemistry lab than in my actual Chemistry class! I would definitely take King again.

If you want to walk out of Chem 2 having learned anything don't take him. He hasn't taught this class in years and half the time tells us he doesn't know how to do the stuff he is "teaching us", touches the VERY BASICS then pawns you off on mastering chemistry and expects that you know how to do it, but plan on teaching yourself everything!

He's hard, but he also helps a lot. I like him. Last semester he gave an option to get the final test grade as semester average if the final was higher. He posts grades on website, he answers questions. Plenty of grades. Do the homework, then the practice tests, and you will be fine. Going to talk to him so he knows who you are will also help.
