Here's the problem I had with professor Morse. The reason why some students found his lectures comprehensible was because they were HIGH SCHOOL level-of course easy to understand! But the problem sets were so beyond the level he taught. Only way to do well was to study in groups and have time! Quite unfair to those who were commuters/had jobs/etc.

I thought this class was unreasonably hard, Morse clearly had favorites, and if someone not in that group went to ask a question they were met only with intimidating questions in response and no answers.

Professor Morse's class had a lot of work. However, I learned a lot of chemistry, so I guess it was worth it.

Professor Morse is such a great teacher! He makes things really clear and really understandable. The homework and tests are difficult, but definitely do-able.

Morse is quite possibly the best professor I have had so far at Tufts. It is obvious that he cares about the entire class - he genuinely wants everyone to do well. He is well organized and is generally available for extra help. He has been a great friend and advisor for my first two semesters.

Wow to all the previous posts (didn't know you could get so upset about a guy establishing his credentials, going out of his way to help students, and running a tight ship in class). True, Morse is hard, but he's a good teacher. Who else learns everyone's name in a lecture hall class??

To the person who wrote the review mentioning his/her 5 on the AP... I did sub-par work in high school chem and BS'ed all my problem sets and still did OK in chem 1 because it IS (for the most part) high school chemistry - it's all the same material! Don't give criticism where it's not deserved.

Who else thinks that Morse writes all of his own "good" reviews? They sound pretty defensive. Hmmm...

i scored a 5 on my ap chem test, i've gotten A's throughout high school chem. I was forced to drop this class because of how bad the professor is. He is always tired and he loves his little "clique" of students, he always manages to mention in every class how he went to MIT.....stuck up

Professor Morse is a great teacher, he tries to keep you interested in a very hard subject, which is hard to do. He doesn't play favorites, there are just the students that he knows better because he talks to them more - as is with every teacher. There is a lot of work, but what do you expect.

Professor Morse was an incredible teacher. He is remarkably intelligent and he makes himself extremely available for extra help and counsilling. The topic is hard and Professor Morses's problem sets and exams really test you but in the end it is worth it.

Here's a tissue guys, dry them tears. Chem's a hard course, Morse is a hard teacher. It's college chemistry. You have to work. Everything you need to know you learn in class or recitation. If you want a good grade it's up to YOU to work for it.

Socializing takes precedent over his students. He plays favorites and is incredibly unfair and egotistical. He clings to attention like flies to dead meat.

Although I got a good grade in his class, he was probably one of the worst professors I have ever had. He does not know how to be professional and his priorities place socializing over his students. More concerned with "making friends" than teac

Best professor I've had in college. Others who criticize him are generally bitter that they didn't do as well as they hoped. His course is laid out fairly, and he tries to help you understand the material. Not much more a professor can do to help out.
