I took two classes with Christy this semester and will be taking two more with him next semester. He is passionate about this subject and you can tell in his lectures, but PAY ATTENTION because if you miss one sentence you'll probably be lost for the rest of the lecture. Oh, and take lots of notes (as he will tell you 1000 times)

Really passionate professor, really knows his stuff. Lectures feel a little bit run off but pay attention and you'll see how it connects. Make sure to study all music from text and lecture for listening exams (2 given). All quizzes are online and plenty of review material on quizlet.

Comment:

Such an odd but awesome guy, like a crazy uncle. Lectures always go off-topic, sometimes they're super interesting and sometimes you fight to stay awake. He has cool stories but his teaching style is kind of messy. Tests are very heavy on memorization of song titles, artist, and year. There's a group presentation but everyone's graded individually.

Christy is a good guy. He is very experienced and allows his ego to drive out into talking for hours. It will be hard if you don't like learning on your own. He will guide you on the basics on Protools, but he will get mad if you ask for help. Just keep practicing it on your own. The Protools certification exam is optional

This man knows knows it all. We had one quiz a week online and one group project. He is a story teller but they are honestly really cool. He knows so many people in the music industry. Wasn't expecting to be really into this class as I'm a nursing major but it was really interesting.

Professor Coobatis was out for half the semester the hospital but came back to teach the class, very dedicated. You can tell he loves music and it's role in modern society. Big part of his class is group projects which aren't too difficult. Rambling but interesting lectures. Make sure to take notes, show up, and pay attention and you will pass.

A real fun guy, you can tell how passionate he is about music. Very strict on attendance, don't take this class if you plan to miss a lot. Lectures are long and rambling and his notes are hard if not impossible to follow. But tests are all online and there's no homework.

Christy is one of those teachers that will change your perspective on life through the medium of music. Music is, and always has been his passion and it shows. A very salt of the earth person that makes class fun and interesting. He is a fair grader, so make sure to do the work, show up, and participate. He is one of the best teachers I had at M.C.
