I was absolutely dreading taking an ASEM class because none of them sounded interesting. Dr. Rowe made this class awesome. She's incredibly nice and facilitates some of the best discussions of I've had in college. Do yourself a favor and take one of her classes.

Dr. Rowe is so enthusiastic. She really makes the class worthwhile. The texts are so interesting and even though there are a lot of writing assignments, the class is so interesting that the assignments really just help you get into the topics even more.

If you read the books, listen and take notes in class, you will be fine. She is very easy to follow, helpful, and engaging during class. And if you have any questions on an essay, she is very helpful. I would definitely take another one of her classes again

I have taken 3 of her classes: Science in literature (AHUM), The Desert of the Real (CORE), and Our Evolving Future (CORE) and loved all of them! As I science major, I dreaded general ed requirements--but loved these classes! I wish I could take more of her classes! She is enthusiastic, very helpful, and picks really great texts and essay topics.

Professor Rowe is great! She is very friendly and her classes are always unique. If you like reading-- mostly fiction-- definitely take her FSEM, AHUM, or CORE classes. You will have to write in her class, but the essay topics are interesting and are generally based on text analysis.

Prof. Rowe is awesome. You can miss up to 2 classes during the quarter b4 it affects your grade, but class is fun and easy and mostly discussion-based. Make sure you do the reading bc she quizzes randomly and participate in class. I took her "science in literature" class and absolutely loved it!

We read 5 books. We wrote 2 essays. Before you turn in an essay she will help you with it. The day you turn in your essay we watched a movie. Class was interesting. The books we read we talked about it in class. I could tell she had fun teaching and wants to help students.

Dr. Rowe is a great teacher. She will start off class with questions and then move into her lecture. After her lecture she starts a class discussion and let's the students take control of the class. Class participation is a must, I tried at least get 3-4 comments in a class period. Tests are hard if you don't read the books- overall great.

Professor Rowe is a really nice lady and she is very enthusiastic about the books you read. There is lots of reading (5 novels) and writing (5 response papers and 1 long one, plus an essay final). Sometimes its hard to know what she wants but shes very helpful if you go talk to her.

Dr. Rowe is awesome! She does give out more homeworks than the other professors, but she is very enthusiastic and EXTREMELY knowledgeable so class is fun and you won't get lost. Dr. Rowe is very considerate and helpful toward her students, try to take her class if you can!

Very helpful, articulate, and interesting. Her classes do require time and effort, and she grades accordingly. Don't slack-- she'll notice. I recommend her AHUM "Madness&Lit" class-- fascinating.
