CDFS 346 with Calahan is a nightmare. Nothing is learned and its all your work and none of his. His slides and other handouts are all from google and he doesnt do any of his own work. His grading is horrendous and doesnt give you a chance to do well. Its impossible to get an A on most of his assignments. I do not recommend this class!

Pre-quiz, post-quiz and an in class assignment (sometimes a quiz) for every single chapter of the book. All taken online which is really convenient. If you buy the DVDs for the course you don't have to go to class on Fridays. An interesting class overall, and he makes the lecture pretty interesting just a lot of work to keep up with.

This professor taught me that apparently ANYONE can get a PhD. horrendous, monotonous, and a waste of my time. Easy class but to get an A you have to slave over useless assignments. Online tests and quizzes were poorly prepared and often flawed. Answer was to automatically reimburse all students with 60 points at the start of the course.

His class is easy overall. All exams/quizzes online, book allowed. Be prepared to read the text! Two quizzes per chapter! He is a stickler for following the syllabus. No "exceptions to the rules" going on...but if you pay half attention, you shouldn't have a problem with that. All directions & assignments are consistent and clear. Not a bad class.

I think Chuck is great! He is a little confusing at first but he is 100% willing to explain further. If he isnt clear then keep prodding him for information. Eventually he will meet you at your level. My favorite part about him is that he believes in second chances. Your second chance may be harder, but it is still an opportunity.

CDFS 210-This course could easily be online;however, Chuck makes some interesting points during class that you would otherwise not think of in reference to the text. Also.. although attendance is not "mandatory" you will get 20points every time you fill out the in class assignment... this is not bonus.. it will hurt your grade if you don't go
