Great guy. Tough on standards...but in a funny way. Always helpful. Get the feeling he measures success by students success. Would def. take him again. Relaxed first name basis despite the fact he is a tenured prof. who was a founder of the department. very funny!

What a great summer class! He said, at the start, that this was THE most important psych course--parenting and family relations. He made it seem so. SOOO interesting! He is not conventional--or by the book--his lectures are not just saying the book over. But he makes you think and want to know more!

Dr. H is inspirational. He demands the best from you in this course, as he should--it's Honors! He has encouraged all of us, and this Program has been nothing short of fantastic--it has given me, and others in the class, real direction for our careers. He makes this Honors program go--he is demanding, but really helpful! His help with graduate school and career plans (applications, GREs, research) has been so important. EG: HE READS our Statements and gives DETAILED feedback and suggestions. His lectures have been so interesting and thought provoking. Great course!

His lectures are an exercise in free association. I could listen to this man banter with him self for hours. His thought process amuses me, as it is quite unique. He paints everything as impossible to obtain. You have to be the best of the best, and that can be scary, but I believe that he has our best interests foremost in mind.

I thought Dr. Hoffman was probably the best Prof. I have ever had. No other proffessor has ever made me reflect on my personal goals as much as him. Not only did I get really inspired about my future and what I was learning, but I was encouraged to mature as a student and strive for excellence!
