The class was "easy" considering he would lecture and play videos. He gave a booklet and expected you to read 100 something pages a section and not have a clue what will be on the test and barely discusses it in class. I would not have known much of what to study if it weren't for the quizlets. He's an awesome guy but not the best professor.

I had Chuck for Basic Video Production and History of Broadcasting. He is awesome and really cares about helping you understand the material and do well in the class. But his tests are difficult. Become friends with him quickly because if he likes you then you are set and will do well in the class. I wish I could take more classes with Chuck!

Unfortunately, if you are a Sports Broadcasting major, you have to take this class with Chuck. He is very unorganized, will not offer help with grades, and attempts to trick you on tests. You will never know what grade you actually have until final grades come out, and then he will not change your grade. Smart guy, bad professor.

I really enjoyed his Sports Broadcasting class. He is very helpful & approachable, however he is very disorganized, & tends to expect you to know things that he never said in class & aren't in the reading. His tests are average, but if you don't study you'll easily fail. Class isn't mandatory, but I recommend going, otherwise it's hard to do well.

LaMendola is a good professor. Not very organized and I have NO earthly idea how he grades, but the class was pretty easy. All lecture for the most part. A few guest speakers, two projects (One took me like 10 hours), and two tests. Funny, cool guy though.

A great teacher! Those rating him poorly either didn't put forth the effort, never got 2 know him, or doesn't care for film. When it comes to his passions i.e. directing & sports, he's great! If he sees you make a solid effort and you put in the time, you'll do well. That said, those rating him poorly probably expect an A for doing nothing at all.

Easiest class I have taken in FTDM major. Chuck is great. I almost didn't take him because of the negative reviews. Chuck loves sports and is very knowledgeable about the subject. He has a great sense of humor and is very accessible outside of class. I would strongly reccommed taking him for a class especially Sports Broadcasting.

Absolutely the worst. Barely teaches class and then shows up at the end of a semester to berate and humiliate his students. Has gone so far as to make students fill out their SPOT evaluations in front of him. DO NOT take his class, it's not worth the easy A.

Chuck gets an "E" for ego. Sucks out all the life and fun out of filmmaking. You really don't learn anything and it's never really clear how your grade is determined. Take Mansur for your production credits.

I LOVED Film/TV Aesthetics! These comments make him seem unapproachable, which is untrue. He has a great dry wit, and is interesting to talk to. Take notes each class, and go to the labs. He wont tell you when quizzes are, and they're easy, but major grades. Very little reading material on midterm and final. Mainly study lecture notes.

Worst teacher in the department. Everyone else here isnt exaggerating-avoid him at all costs. He lectures on having pride in what we do-yet he has no pride in what he does. This reflects greatly in his teaching and attitude. Take Mansur if possible.

What a loser. He acts like he doesnt care, until he starts grading, then its like, damn. He's teaching a bunch of good classes too that he'll probably ruin b/c of his attitude. If you dont want to be here Chuck, then leave.

Horrible teacher. Knows stuff, but doesn't convey it well to students. Missed a day of class because he had a job opp. and left his TAs to teach. I wanted to get a lot more out of this class, but when the teacher doesn't come to the one day a week class it's kind of hard. Actually worked with lights only three times. Take Mansur instead.
