Fain actually teaches at Niagara University, now. He took over for a professor and tried to copy the class structure without understanding it. 7 req books, that are all required to be read in full. 9-10 papers&reaction papers, assigned a last minute research paper. No room for anyone else's opinion or any opposing fact.

He is a terrible teacher, he cannot teach. he takes a while to get his point across. the only good thing about his class was that it will eventually help one day but other than that he is annoying and does not grade fairly. you will have to suck up to him to have good grade.

Prof. Fain is the greatest. He really wants his students to succeed, so the class is moderately hard. However, if you pay attention and read the supplemental readings, you should do fine. He's very personable and loves to converse with students. Take him if at all possible.

I've also taken him for 231 and I'm taking him for Af Am HST. He's been an amazing inspiration. I don't find him hard because I attend class and pay attention. He puts stupid people in their place, he's not afraid to call out slackers. For once the idiots that sit in the back of the room have to participate. He wants people to EARN their degree.

Class is difficult, but if you attend class and take notes you will be fine. There is alot of work needed for a history class and it can be very hard but you will come away learning more than you expected. Do not take if youre looking for easy but do take if you want to learn.

"People, people!!" as the Fainism goes. . . I was pleasantly surprised to realize that history can be sorta fun when presented in the fashion and enthusiam that Mr. Fain exudes. His style of teaching leave the students with clear recall, long after the class has ended. Highly recommeneded. He is an asset to Marshall University!!! A+++++++

I had fain in American History and African American History. I got a B in both classes but I had to work pretty hard to get it. He is fair and will explain anything to you. AF-AM HST is a fun and interesting class, he really gets into it. I had a C+ before my final and he let me do extra credit instead of the 10 page final for me to receive a B.

Prof. Fain is one of the toughest teachers I've had, but if you do your work and ask questions, the class will be fun and informative. He is seriously one of the best professors at Marshall and thankfully I can take him again next semester.

Mr. Fain is the man!! Great teacher, very passionate about what he teaches. His assignments challenge you and sometimes you often don't understand what he's looking for. But thats the awesome part about it, there is no one answer. Class is GREAT and you'll learn a lot, and walk out of there in a good mood. The man is so down to earth and funny!

I never knew what was expected of me, and his assignments were often unclear. He is also unclear when he lectures. And he kicks you out of class when you don't do the readings (there are a lot of them). But he is very funny, very fair, and he is willing to put forth an effort to help students. Most people like him, but I won't take him again.

Cicero Fain is a great man, and his pet class, African-American history, should be required for history majors. It is an outstanding class. The readings are very good, but there is plenty of material to cover and you can get swamped. Fain is accessible and quite helpful, though. Take Fain for anything.
