Comment:
The material itself can get really boring. For the most part, though, the class won't be too difficult as long as you go to class (which can be hard to do sometimes). The tests and essays are based on what is discussed in the lectures, so go to class. She isn't the best professor ever but she doesn't do anything poorly. Overall, a very okay prof

Comment:
Dr. Horisk does really well with pretty boring materials. She uses relevant and easy to follow examples and she's very willing to answer questions. Her lectures were long, she tends to ramble, and her writing can be difficult to read. She's an overall interesting person and good at what she does. Do the homework, and you should be fine for exams.

She is kinda boring, but explains everything really clearly. I disliked her at first, but she does care about her students. She gives people the grade they deserve. Write down everything because the midterms are basically everything said in class

I hating going to class. Lectures were boring and went in circles. Readings were dull. Not the worst professor, she grades pretty easily, but expects a lot and only really wants to hear her own opinion.

Comment:
Extremely repetitive and cannot accept that some transfer students have already had some of these concepts in the past (so she will dismiss their answers, even if they're right). Group work is pointless, as always, and she is often a bit snappy. I got a good grade, but dreaded this class most days.

Great professor. Very helpful. If you do the homework and understand it, you'll have no problems in her class.

This class was not really relevant to me (I am a linguistics major), but it wasn't hard. Prof. Horisk was easy to understand and the materiel made sense, it just wasn't interesting to me. Good teacher though.

she doesn't know what she's talking about, she's condescending and insulting towards students who do their work and participate in class. Plays favorites, relies too heavily on textbook content.

Do not take Philosophy and Gender unless you are a feminist! Very hard on grading, only one exam the whole semester, and never gives you a straight answer about anything, the whole class is discussion.

She was very weird and pretty boring. Also very repetitive with her slides. She never tells you what she thinks is a good answer to questions, she just calls on people in the class to answer them, so not very helpful.
