What a sweet and knowledgable woman! Dr. Simmons is a wonderful prof that really cares about the success of her students. On more than one occasion, I emailed her with questions and went to office hours and she not only helped me, but also took the time to ask me about my other classes and goals. I'd highly recommend her!!

I feel blessed to have had simmons as my teacher for a british literature course. English is not for everyone and I think she understands that. It is a general education class and she treats it like one unlike other GE professors. It is very easy if you take brief notes and study a little before quiz day and exams. She is really funny as well!

It's impossible not to get an A in her class. Just read and show up to class if you want a good grade. She has a great sense of humor and super accommodating. Only downfall was how she handled finals week. We had a quiz, a paper, and an exam all within a week so it was a bit overwhelming especially with other finals going on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Clare Simmons has the rare and much loved gift of being a clear, concise, and rather easy teacher while also being able to work through material with a generally critical eye. Granted, in survey courses this is the goal. Lots of extra credit and very clear goals make her class, while not super fun or inspiring, easy and worth taking.

She gives very straight forward PowerPoint presentations and pretty easy tests as long as you're paying attention in class and taking notes. Everything is pretty clear cut, no surprises from her other than the weekly pop quizzes.

This class was an easy A. You don't even have to read all of the readings. Simply show up to class and do well on the case briefs. Clare is an easy grader, willing to edit your papers before you turn them in, and allows rewrites on every assignment. She is very nice and helpful and clearly wants students to succeed.

I would highly recommend Prof Simmons for any Lit class. I find most of them boring but she did a good job at keeping it interesting and humorous. She is very helpful and accommodating - you need to do your work but she grades pretty easily and accepts all opinions in class. Good class, good prof.

Professor Simmons took a potentially intimidating/boring subject and made extremely interesting and fun. Assignments are light compared to many English classes, and grading is VERY fair. Class atmosphere is relaxed and her lectures are funny and thought-provoking. She is exceptional. She's taking a sabbatical until next fall, so take her then!

LOVE HER! If only all of osu's english profs were like this. She's funny, approachable, and tries hard to make the class interesting. even better-she's a nice grader and accepts late work. it's a shame the honors dept hogs her for all of their classes!

I adored Prof Simmons. To be honest, some people hated her though. Usually it was just because they couldn't get into the material, but those people weren't good with English anyways, right? Simmons loves to help people, always has good insight when you ask for help, and had plenty of unusual, cool information on all sorts of things. A true gem

Very helpful, she is always willing to make time in her office if you need help on a paper or something. She is a fair grader, but she is tough, there is no slacking off in this class. Also, she will not give a big reading load when a paper is due. (how sweet)
