Comment:

A crap load of reading was involved in her 210 class I took. It is horrible reading too, all political theory non-sense. Exams were all essay questions. Pop quizes had very specific questions, to make sure you did the readings. Her TA Ryan was a snob just like her. Ultra liberal and feminine views really sucked as well.

The reading is moderate to heavy, and the teacher is really nice (and she's kind of hot, in my opinion). Take it if you're interested in power (theoretically) and the study of resistance movements and you can write well (no midterms, 5 papers, one of which is 10-15 pages). Class is all discussion and sometimes tangental. Overall, I learned a lot

The bad news: her exams are hell; it'll take you at least one to figure out her marking system and how to write a passing one. The good news: she's willing to help if you're active and involved in class, do the readings (and worksheets), and express interest. If you're a passive student, avoid, but if you're strong in seminars, you'll love her.

Comment:

Was very good at explaining the readings and purposes behind them. Made good use of engaging classroom debate to further understanding for the rest. Way too intelligent for the job she has now, but manages to dumb herself down quite well. The tests were a bit difficult, but her understanding of political philosophy was worth having heard.

No comment I could write would ever do justice to describing this terrible professor-- she is a HUGE snob (always drops that she went to Yale), condescending, and no matter how much you contribute to class-- she won't take the time to learn your name. I would have really enjoyed this course if she didn't teach it.

Worst PolitSci professor I've had in my 4 years as an honors PolitSci student. She is an ultra-liberal feminist philosphoer. Over the course of the quarter we did not discuss a single political issue; we read english, sociology, philosophy, etc.
