On the first day of class I knew this class was a mistake. Dr. Brown can not stay on topic for more than five minutes at a time and topics of his tangents often include things like British Fox Hunting. The worst part is the info on in class power points is what is more heavily tested, but its all too vague and reading the text doesn't help a lot.

Boring and Vague on expectations for assignments. Is a very awkward person, looks at the ground as he talks. Tests in 241 were difficult because he tests on details. Currently sitting in his 357 class, and everyone in the class is working on work for other classes on their laptops, online shopping, texting, etc. Easy class due to grade curve though

Incredibly boring lecture, I sat on my computer the entire time, but he curves his class because no one ever shows up and makes it an easy A. A little weird, but nice guy who gets incredibly happy if you even show him an ounce of respect or interest. Got an A without having to ever study, he has no attendance grade too which is nice.

I'll go ahead and say I'm not a Clyde fan. His lectures are boring, he asks ridiculous questions but somehow his exams manage to be incredibly particular with the content. It's a weird dynamic. I'll be honest and say I gave zero effort and got a B. Not a hard class, but if there was a competent professor it'd be an easy A for everyone.

I really enjoyed Professor Brown's class when I took it over the summer. I found him to be engaging and willing to help the students succeed! If you do the work everything will work out, his class requires work but he is a fantastic instructor.

I found it extremely hard to find the will to go to class due to the fact it is almost impossible to concentrate in class with all of his side tangents on cats and beer and his need to bounce around the room when talking about course material.

Dr. Brown was VERY confusing and would often go off on complete tangents that didn't pertain to the subject material at all. It's possible to do well in this class, but it'll take a lot of work.

Nice guy, terrible teacher. His lectures don't go along with the text, constant rambling, mumbling, creates his own confusing diagrams that don't relate to anything. I did well in the class because I'm a poly sci major but if your taking this class for Miami Plan, you should find another teacher.

Dr. Brown assumes you to be intelligent and motivated. If you are not both - together - his lectures probably will pass you by and you will find yourself thinking about other things. He is fair. But do not expect him to be afraid to offer his own opinion about anything political. (That is his job, after all.)
