If you're attentive and get the reading done, you'll do very well in this class. Colin cares about his students, and while he can appear grumpy, he is always willing to help and wants you to succeed. Don't take office hours for granted, and always read the media links on Blackboard, they are part of bonus marks on tests. Highly recommend.

Wants things done his way, no room for human error. Fairly difficult marker, but as long as you study for exams its easy. Not the nicest guy, always talks about how he wrote the textbook. Make sure you follow his every instruction for the paper, or he will give you a bad mark without reading your paper.

Most students are scared of him and hate him because he is strict and wants his students to do well. If you turn off your phone and leave it in your bag during class, you won't have any problems with him. Just pay attention to his lectures and keep up with the reading and you'll do fine.

Honestly, gave him a second chance after taking 2252 with him and absolutely hated his teaching methods and attitude. Should not have done it. Still rude, picks favorites & you could write the same thing as a favorite student and get 2 grades less. It had to do with the class as well, as it should not be a criminology class.

Dr. Campbell seems tough at first, but once he knows you are serious about school he is extremely helpful and very accessible outside of class. His lectures fly by quickly and the way he explains things are very straight forward (which is helpful for exams).

He does't take attendance, but things he talks about will show up in a test. He brings in lots of guest speakers and if you miss them, you'll potentially lose marks on the test. He's tough, and puts up with no bs. Show up, take notes, no phone, ask questions. READ!!! Read the book and you'll ace the test.

Colin is very wise and his lectures are extremely interesting, he lectures on stuff from the textbook and from personal experiences. He has high standards for his students, so put in the effort. He's a fair marker and genuinely cares about his students' success.

Worst professor ever. He's not there to help when you need it. He teaches without a textbook which makes it really hard to understand what the hell is he talking about. Very boring lectures, and doesn't let you even keep your phone in sight in class.

He knows a lot about criminology and his lectures are very informative so i suggest not to miss any of his classes. I worked hard to earn my grade and I personally found that he marks extremely difficultly on the research paper.

Good teacher, marks hard, but if you put in the effort you will do well. I studied a lot for each test and ended up getting 102% on one of the midterms (he gives bonus questions). Just put in the effort!

Colin seems like a bad teacher at first, but honestly once you get to know him and know his way of teaching, his tests are super easy and repetitive? The first 2-3 pages of my final exam were copied, pasted from exam 1 and 2, with the same letter answers. if you do well on your paper he will give you the exact mark you recieved on your outline

The worst professor. I've had a lot of bad experiences with student teachers/unqualified staff at Douglas, but Colin is just the worst. He changed his mind about due dates numerous times, cares about grammar more than content, hard marker, outlines/expectations are not clarified, rude, condescending. And asking for help will get you nowhere.

If you miss 4 classes you fail automatically. I failed, asked him not to fail me but he failed me. Lectures are long, a lot of group work/group discussions, participation is a must and this is an interesting subject and he failed to make that shine through. Took it again with someone else and it was way better.

Amazing professor, one of my favorites. Some people say he is hard, but he is in a good way. You will learn a lot from his classes and you will learn how to be a successful student. If you do bad on the mid term just meet with him to see how you can improve for the final. The paper is not difficult if you do the outline.

Absolutely hilarious, started the class with referring to all of us as jackasses. The exams are simple if you read the text book and do his study questions. He refers to stupid answers as "man on the bus" answers, he states that he holds his students to a higher standard then a jackass on the bus. Very engaging, you learn a lot.

When you first meet him he will be a hard ass but tones down halfway through the course. If you actually pay attention in class and read the textbook you'll be fine. Is an extremely hard marker though

Great prof. Very challenging but worth every penny. Makes you actually work for your grade. Learnt a lot from both classes I took with him. He takes time planning each class and expects the same with your assignments. In the policing class he brought in many public speakers. Very knowledge + has great stories of his experiences. TAKE his class!

Colin Campbell is absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. He is rude, disrespectful, and arrogant. He treats students like absolute garbage and gives no educational guidance if you have any questions or concerns about the course. He doesn't explain what he expects from assignments and fails you when you guess wrong. A truly awful experience.

Mr. Campbell is a good teacher, but definitely not for those who want to zip buy. He makes you work for it. He's a good teacher in the sense that he pushes you to do well. He repeats that the students attain a strong grasp with writing at a high academic level. For myself, I worked hard for my grade.
