Mathers is a really cool prof. He has really clear expectations. If you do the assigned homework and participate in class you will get A's on the exams. This class is an easy A if you pay attention and participate. Collin makes the class interesting. He is such a cool guy.

Really enjoyed the class-- one of the most useful I've taken, IMO. The discussions were interesting and thought provoking. (As for all the negative reviews, I agree this class was maybe a bit tough/long for a 101, but I get the feeling many of these could be someone who posted multiple times-- I was actually really surprised to see them.)

This professor was truly the worst one I've ever had. I received a good grade, but this class was horrible in the way the professor presented the info. He didn't make any sense with the material he taught us in class, it was way beyond an intro class. AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COST!!!! you'll be much better off without him.

Actually thought he was a good teacher. These messages are probably coming from some of the one brain celled jocks that are so abundant in Fisher. He doesnt seem to favor people because they play tennis or football like so many other teachers at Fisher. Very smart and keeps the class interesting. Not too much work but enough to learn.

3 hrs straight of PHIL273 with this guy was tantamount to being waterboarded, I'm pretty sure. Gives ridiculous busywork and basically treats you like a kindergartener. Absurd attendance policy. Has a weird, distracting jaw twitch. He'd do well to remember college students are adults. And to find some sweaters that hide his man****.

I'd rather stab my eyes out with pencils than attend another class with him. This guy really knows how to make a 3 hour class seem like a 3 year class. Avoid this class at all costs even if it means taking an 8AM class

This was my first time taking a philosophy course, he is a horrible teacher. Forgot that he once was a student and that some of us are not philosophy majors. Never took the time to make sure his students understood the material. Stay away from his class

Worst instructor ever. Boring, lacks practical experience. Talks way over intro students, yet talks down to you at the same time. Wont tell you your wrong, just pretends you didn't say anything. Riiiigggghhhttt. Yeeeeaaaahhhhh. We'll cover that later, never covers it. If you can take this class with anyone else, DO IT!

I thought Mathers was a GREAT teacher. It is a little boring, but what isn't? The project at the end is a little ridiculous, but not that bad if you get help. Some of the assignments are busy work but it really helps to learn the material and get good grades on the test. I would recommend him for an intro philosophy class. Great Job Mr. Mathers!!!!

Arrogant guy. Hate the bell he uses to get the class attention. Act like the students he's teaching are little kids. Could never answer students questions clearly. Make an interesting topic seems so boring. No homework, but the tests are hard.

Definitely an easy A. However you actually have to put up with him if you want that grade. Uses the beginning of one class a week to tell you a horrible story that has nothing to do with the class. The story is his attempt to be funny and cool. It doesn't work.

His classes are boring and all he does is ramble on about stupid topics. I have learned nothing from him, because he will not help you with questions like a teacher should. Ask him a question... you won't get an answer, he'll just babble for five minutes.

Easy but not very exciting teacher. Permits open discussion but doesnt start much as far as provoking. Everything can be expected but you will learn what is needed. Only take night class if you are a serious student.

Riiiiight, worst teacher i have ever had. don't take any of his classes even if you need them to graduate. a life time of flipping burgers is a much better alternative than spending 2 hours and 40 minutes a week with this clown...
