Comment:
Her way or the highway. The grading criteria for speeches is relatively unclear. She mentions certain things you *must* have in your speech briefly in class without emphasizing it and ends up having that swift requirement be a large part of why you didn't make the grade on a speech. Don't be absent. Even if you have a doctor's note.

Professor wasn't organized with lectures, jumped from one topic to the next without explanation. Very unclear grading process, some papers would be graded more leniently than others. Very inconsistent. Gave very distracting lectures. Would not recommend this professor

Fletcher is the worst professor I've had at Loyola. Her assignments are all vague and she doesn't do much teaching. Almost everyday she wastes time by having guest speakers come in and teach you how to breathe properly. The grading for speeches is VERY subjective and she's a VERY hard grader. I really regret taking her.

Very unclear and vauge lectures. Gets upset if you point out a mistake made. Doesn't follow syallabus or use Sakai/locus. Unclear grading system and takes forever to get back assignments.

By far the worst prof I've had in my 2.5 years here. Guidelines for assignments are extremely vague and when you ask for clarification, she just tells you to read the guidelines again. Treats you like a kid b/c she takes off participation points if you have to leave during class to go to the bathroom. Tests questions are very specific and vague.

Connie Fletcher is by far the worst professor I've had at Loyola. I missed 3 days of class due to being in the HOSPITAL with appendicitis and she was not understanding and my participation grade was marked down for the entire semester. Moreover, she gave me and F on a speech for having quotes written out on a note card. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!

Connie doesnt like technology, you arent allowed to use laptops and that doesnt make sense in era. You also lose points for being late or leaving during class. She doesnt explain her assignments well, the tests are confusing, and the reading are pointless. Not many people in my class did well, there were 7 of us after one person dropped out.

She is a tough grader and extremely confusing. She gets really mad if you go to the bathroom (takes off points if you do). I got really sick one day and had to leave the classroom and she yelled at me. When I tried to reason with her to get points back she said I "blew up" and was being irrational. Treats you like a child.

Extremely hard grader for a comm 101 class. Very disorganized and she should not be teaching a speech class when her own public speaking skills are subpar. Should have been an easy A but wasn't with her.

She wasn't very good on giving feedback for papers, so I felt like I didn't learn or improve my writing. She also never followed the syllabus and never updated online. Just a very unstructured class with no clear direction, didn't feel like I learned much.

She is such a sweetheart and makes class so entertaining to be in. However, she doesnt seem to understand that many people taking her class are doing it for a requirement, and are not even journalism majors. She is an extremely hard grader, and while she does offer opportunities for rewrites, chances are, youll have too many to do than can keep up with.

I'll keep it simple because she's not worth me getting frustrated. Clarity- none, helpfulness when you ask her to explain something-none existent , this lady is all over the place, never explains why she graded something a certain way, expects you to teach yourself, &too much more for me to type. she's nice but what does that matter if she CANT TEACH

DO NOT take her. This lady is anything but "nice". she is ridiculously awful at explaining her assignments and no matter how hard you try she finds something to use against you and take points off unless you're a "Favorite". She is "sweet" but isn't clear on what she wants, has a ridiculous attendance policy, and over all is lost & confused. AVOID

Surprised to see all the rave reviews here. Mediocre reading material. At times, unclear instructions for group work and lost assignments. I felt as though the curriculum didn't match up with class' outlined goals.
