You have to read stories before every class and you are usually quizzed on them. Some of the stories we read we really long and hard to read, making the quizzes difficult. However, if you read and understand the stories, go to class, do the one group project, and can write four easy papers, it's an easy "A." Mostly boring, but easy.

I've tried with her, honestly. If you can avoid her, do. She's so crabby. You will never do exactly what she wants even if you ask her. Don't get "The Circle" either I found it online for free. I don't know how she still has a job. No one is happy having her. If you like school don't take her.

She was lecturing every day. We always had to read, read, and read. She is a tough grader when it comes to essays. I would not take her again. Her class is too much for a 200 level class. Take with someone else if possible. She's nice and soft toned, but shes very picky and boring.

The book is expensive. You don't really need it, just find them online and get a buddy to confirm that it's the right article. She'll pop quiz you on the articles and if you didn't read the article, you're fresh out of luck. Doesn't touch on gender outside the binary and made us out us, our friends and our family. Not good with pronouns

I feel like she pays too much attention to detail that the student can't really get a chance to learn because they're too busy trying to get a good grade and she's not really giving a way for that. You become so focused on trying to make sure everything's perfect and could still fail because it wasn't her intention to like it in the first place.

She is extremely picky about the most random things. Followed powerpoint guidelines to a T and she docked points for pictures not being big enough. This class is tolerable, but not enjoyable. Hard to take my eyes away from the clock.

Absolutely terrible experience. Perry might have a PhD in English but she is by no means a great professor. The course content had lots of potential, but she made it intolerable. Strict, monotone, condescending, not easy to talk to, makes you feel stupid, and very boring. Do not be deceived by these positive reviews, my entire class felt this way.

She follows English Dept. guidelines of attendance (can't miss more than 6 classes). Gives pop quizzes on the readings, there's A LOT of them, about every other week. Can't make up unless you contact her ahead of time. 4 response papers. 1 easy presentation. Final was 2.5 hours for me - had to write 20 paragraphs. Overall nice, a little dry.

I would not recommend this class to people. Although I found it interesting the final was ridiculous. She told us it was going to be an essay exam and told us to have 4 selections from the text book ready. She left out that it was going to be a 20 paragraph essay final. 20 PARAGRAPHS! For a 200 level class... what a joke.

Dr Perry is a lovely woman but her class is so elementary that I found it boring. I never went to class because I just couldn't stand it. Her interactions with students are basic and I felt as though she looked down on me. I put very little effort into the 3 papers we had to write and I never got below a B+. It felt like a waste of time.

I personally hate english classes but she has been fair with her grading. Unfortunately there is one 3 papers throughout the semester which mean...3 grades plus some kind of final. however I bombed one of my papers and she gave me an extra weekend to work on it so she can be sympathetic to poor writers like myself hehe.

This was my 3rd class with Perry. At first I thought she was a small-minded valley girl, but in truth she is so knowledgeable not just about current events but about history and biographies of writers/poets/field of English studies. Understanding about deadlines, too. My mistake to let her innocent and heavy Minnesota accent fool me.

I love Perry! She is extremely helpful if you're having trouble understanding something and she is extremely understanding of students and their outside of class. No final just a paper. One of my favorite profs. Just gotta read the stories and come to class. 3 papers, lead discussion, presentation, and participate.

Dr. Perry is a great teacher, she was obviously passionate about the subject matter and was very helpful in interpreting the readings. Had a couple projects and papers but nothing difficult or extreme. Some random quizzes on the readings but they were easy. I'll be taking more classes from her in the future. GREAT CLASS!

The class was very easy. All people had to do is read and come to class. If you read you would pass the quizzes. There were 4 papers, which she didn't explain too well what all she wanted but still fairly easy to get a good grade on. Just participate in the discussion and be respectful.

Not a good Professor. Gave a lot of trouble in the final paper. I re-checked the paper from another professor, got an A. She gave me an F. Really strict in grading. It was a 2 credit class. Had more work load than my major classes. I find this class useless though, its for transfer students. If the professor hates you, shell make sure you fail.

I thought this class was going to be really interested but was dissapointed by Dr. Perry. I think she teaches in a very dull way. Starts class about 5 min early...even quizzes which I thought was disrespectful. Daily reading assignments and quizzes. Only had to write 4 papers which weren't hard. The work is not hard but I would never recommend her.

I didn't have any problems with this professor. If you know how to write an essay and you read the assigned ready before class, you should do just fine. She does want you to talk/write about specific things so know what her expectations are beforehand. I plan on taking one of her classes again.
