Excellent professor! Too bad she moved over to the Dean's Office. Highly engaging during lectures, helps improve your writing and research and genuinely cares about students and their goals both inside and outside the classroom.

Dr. Blake is an incredible professor who really knows what she's talking about. I learned A LOT in her class, and her feedback definitely helped me. Be prepared for an intense amount of reading and prepping for her class. She expects a lot, but she's clearly passionate about what she teaches. If you're passionate about learning, then go for it.

Dr. Blake is the type of professor who expects you to spend a full 3 hours reading for each class. While this is absolutely not necessary, she expects you to be knowledgeable in the topic you are studying. You will learn a lot, but a lot will be required of you. Her lectures can be dull and redundant but it will help you grasp tough concepts.

Great teacher. Don't take if you are expecting an easy A. She will make you work hard, but I learned a lot. She is there for help and gives clear directions for assignments. Give her a try if you are willing to learn.

She is by no means an easy teacher you will have to read a lot in this class but you will learn a tremendous amount. The final and midterm are challenging, but she is always willing to help you at any moment and is very clear. Tough but well worth it, getting an A is very possible.

Dr. Blake is the best professor and in true words a TEACHER who wants you to succeed. Prior to taking her class I had lost hope that I will ever do good in studies. Dr. Blake pushed me through and helped me gain that confidence back. It is true that her class requires a lot of work but at the same time she is always there for you to guide.

Dr. Blake is an extremely tough professor. She requires A LOT of reading. The class itself was interesting but there is an ton of work to be done. If you pay close attention you will do well. However DO NOT expect to get an A in her class. It's almost downright impossible.

Blake was a great Methods prof! A lot of work and papers but it all ties together in the end of the semester and your final paper is basically done. She cares about you, responds to emails and is helpful. Pretty funny too! I recommend her for Historical Methods! Not impossible to get an A or B.

Professor Blake is the best history teacher I was offered. She does expect alot of work but it is very easy with providing help and a better understanding. She is very clear what she wants and responds to emails instantly with answers. She's a very good teacher and always keeps everything involved and informed. She is very helpful..Take her class, you won't regret it

Very hard class but I learned a lot. It took a bit of time for me to warm up to her, but she ended up being one of my favorite professors! Expect to do a lot of reading and work outside of class. If you're not a history major or you're not willing to work hard, you might not want to take this class. But if you want to learn, I'd recommend her.

Really knows her stuff. I learned so much from her class. Assignes alot of work, but it is all relevant to the subject matter. Will answer your questions in class or after class. Was perfectly clear in what she expected from her students. Overall pretty good, especially if you're interested in history.

Extremly knowledgeble and easy to follow. Can be a bit extreme at times when asking people to be as indepth as she is during class discussions. Class has lots and lots and lots of reading and homework but it helps cement the information in your brain. A bit stingy about people walking in late even by a minute.

I've had Dr. Blake for Women in Islam and Arab Israeli Conflict. She's a fantastic professor and extremely knowledgeable. However, the workload is a lot. But if you do it, you will do well, and your research paper will always come together in the end!

The class is a lot of work, but all of the work you do comes together in the end. Your paper almost writes itself by the end of the semester. She's very nice and a great advisor. My only problem with the class is the Wilson textbook. Glad I never have to look at that again.

Comment:

Great professor and very helpful. She really wants you to succeed, but she makes you work hard. There is an assignment due for mostly every class and sometimes they feel never ending. The assignments are by no means busy work, and you really learn by completing them. She is also a tough grader, but B's and C's are attainable if you work hard.

This class was a joke. First of all, it is a 100 level course and there is sooo much work. Document quizzes, in class quizzes, massive readings. The midterm, midterm paper, and final are all essay based. Lectures are long and boring,I felt like she was going to say "Beuler" over and over. Alot to read, so be prepared. I Do Not recommend to anyone!
