Cornelia did not do a good job for me. Chemistry is my love and then coming to her class, I started to hate it. Cornelia just talks and talks and assumes you are following along. her accent is incredibly thick to the point of mispronunciation of key terms that later I was confused with. She goes off on unimportant tangents that no one cares about

Her accent is so difficult to understand and she rushes through the lectures. She doesn't teach, she just talks and assumes that people are following her. She made me dislike chemistry. She is not a good professor and I would not take any o her classes ever again.

Dr. Bohne is an incredibly knowledgable and kind professor. She actively checks in during lectures to ensure the class is understanding concepts, and encourages students to ask questions if something is unclear. Though the material may be difficult for some, it isn't harder than your average chemistry course. A lovely woman overall!!

Great professor but though course. Forget the lecture notebook: it is completely useless since it lacks over 50% of the information relevant to succeed in the course. I would recommend the textbook as a sole source of study. Prof. Bohne is really helpful when you have questions and the marking is fair. Expect to work around 8-10 hrs/week for an A.

I love chemistry, I really do. My years at Camosun gave me a really solid background. But Bohne is simply an unfair prof. After my midterm I went to her with a question about the TAs marking scheme she took the test and gave me a lower mark, not only that the final grossly over complicated and I feel bad for anyone depending on that exam. Terrible

she is a great person, but not a great instructor. first time teaching 231 in 10 years, makes mistakes doing reactions. in her own words "this is why i'm not a synthetic chemist". travels during the term. I wouldn't take her class again. I busted my butt & i'm at B- when all my other grades are A and A+. felt like i was chasing the lecture material

Initially, I was hesitant to take Chem 231 with Cornelia given all of her negative reviews. I have since learned that the negative reviews are completely undeserved; they simply reflect how hard the course is. Dr. Bohne is kind, helpful, and truly cares how her students do. No easy way around oChem. Course requires 10+ hrs/wk if you want an A.

300A is an amazing elective for many reasons: no text, no tests, work is divided among large groups and Bohne reviews your drafts before submission! But the best part is Bohne really helps you gain an appreciation of chemistry in your life and wants your writing to be non-technical and understandable to the public. A refreshing and enjoyable class!

although VERY helpful in tutorials and in lecture, her explanations could be fairly unclear. midterms were fair, but final was very tough, presenting very different questions than what was seen. very intelligent in her field of work, and challenged students greatly with the final (as well as midterms and tutorials)

Cornelia was awesome. Chem300 is for non-majors and instead of making us memorize useless information we will never use, she taught us "how to think about chemistry". She also helped us learn to evaluate colleagues in group work. It was a great experience and an EASY A! She was very kind and welcoming and had a cute accent.

Bohne Rules. She is interested in teaching us the underlying prinicples, not helping us memorize a load of reactions, which is refreshing.

She was not too bad actually. I didn't have high expectations going into it, but she surprised me. She tells you everything you need to know, gives detailed mechanisms and give fair tests. If you study and go to class, it will be hard to fail.

It's a tough course really based on conceptual understanding. Memorization of notes will not get you through the course. It's hard to understand Dr. Bohne in class, but she is helpful during office hours.

Worst Prof you'll ever have. She seems like a nice person, but her priority is not for her students to learn and succeed.
