Very knowledgeable. I went to nearly every class and it paid off. As long as you go to class and pay attention, ask a question or two, and maybe go to office hours, he will remember and like you. Quizzes/Tests were sometimes a little difficult, but he would always state what they would be composed of well in advance of actually taking the quiz/test

Good: He gives extra credit (Bonus problems on quizzes). Invites everyone to ask many questions. Will change grade if you challenge his grading. Always has office hours. Way better than most professors. Bad: Loves to only go over conceptual thinking rather than using actual numbers and examples. May have a hard time understanding what he teaches.

He's pretty difficult to understand. When he is asked a question, he often has difficulty understanding what is being asked and spends too much time responding to it. He constantly makes mistakes while working out problems on the board. Many times he ends up making mistakes while attempting to fix his mistakes. Grading scale is not on syllabus.

Great class, I loved Peligrad. He explains everything very clearly and is generous with extra credit opportunities. He works hard to make sure that all of his students understand the material and have ample opportunities to succeed in the class. He's also really interesting and fun to listen to, so it's easy to pay attention in class.

His notes are hard to understand. He expects you to memorize the textbook. Quizzes are almost every Friday and if not, there's usually a test. He's a nice guy, but his lectures are boring/confusing. He once tried a proof three times before he just gave up in the middle of his lecture.

I had professor Peligrad for Linear Algebra. I bought the book to read through it even though there wasn't homework in that class. If you pay attention in class, you will do really well. The first few weeks, I went to tutoring at MASS center and it was a great idea. Definitely do the problems from the book that he assigns.

He's OK. He has an accent, but it isn't that bad. 1 quiz a week, and there was a little extra credit, which is great! Exams were meh, final exam didn't have enough time or space to complete for half the class. Never ask him to FOIL like I did. You'll be in for a doozy if you do.

His accent is a little thick but if you pay attention then you should be able to close any gaps with contextual clues. Besides, he writes the stuff on the board. His train of thought is super clear, he is super knowledgeable, and he isn't super picky about format. Just make sure your proofs are thorough and you'll do great.

One of the hardest math teachers I have ever had. Couldn't understand him in lecture, but his tests were not difficult, so teaching yourself would do the trick. Still, there was always one question on each test that would throw me off. No curves by the way.

I only had him for half of the class, but he made keeping a good grade hard. One of the tests, the average was in the 60's, but he doesn't curve. His tests weren't unfair, nor was his grading, it was just hard to follow him. It was much easier to read the book then follow him in lecture. Hardest math teacher I have ever had.

Nice guy, willing to help. He can often be unclear though. His class consists of too many examples and proofs, not enough notes to prepare you for the exams + quizzes (which in totality is like 85% of your grade). You have to teach yourself, which isn't ideal when your grade depends on it. Really hit my gpa. I would choose a different professor.

You will have to teach yourself. Class time is spent doing examples and higher level proofs. Our only grades the whole semester were weekly quizzes(60% of grade) and the final exam(40% of grade). The practice problems given never resembled the questions asked on quizzes. If you have a chance to take a class with a different professor, do it.

Best math professor I have had at UC, thus far. He quizes you over the material every week and is very clear about what to expect on them. His exams and quizes are not hard at all. Read the book. Really nice guy. He is clear in his lectures. I wish I could have him for every math class!! Take him!!

He is a very helpful and caring professor. He converts low-scoring problems into extra credit, and is always trying to help the students succeed. His quizzes are harder than the Calculus tests, but that means you will be prepared for the exams as they come. Loved his class. I look forward to MATH252H winter quarter with him!

Great for math majors as he expects proper mathematical precision and reasoning in the work, but isn't overly strict so makes a good introduction to higher mathematics. Non-math majors or those without a strong interest are thus likely put off. He is funny and entertaining, and takes as much time as needed to work problems asked. No mandatory HW

He knows the material and explains it all right. The main problem is that he gives relatively little direction for studying for exams, takes off a lot of points for a few mistakes, and the textbook is a poor supplement for the class.

Made an easy class difficult. Has a thick accent and is hard to understand. Wrote EVERYTHING by hand: tests, quizzes, homework; and NEVER used blackboard. Horrible professor, very unorganzied and not sympathetic of students. AWFUL.
