Don't do it to yourself. The main texts for the class are a 400-page book written by him and a CDROM that can only be purchased via pay-pal on some sketchy website. His syllabus is 5 different word documents totaling about 40 pages. Still had no idea what the assignments were.

Nice guy but his online class sucks. He is impossible to get a hold of and does not do the things his syllabus says. Our final is due friday and he still has not uploaded the assignment and it is wednesday now. Avoid taking class at all costs.

Easy class. Lots of videos, fair amount of reading. I never bought the CD and made out alright. Definitely a free spirit. Take notes during the movies, do the journal entries (1 per class), participate, you're golden. Liberal dude that always has a cup of tea.

Never take a course with this guy. Very disorganized. Interesting content and he seems to master it, however he is too quiet and unclear as well. Assignments were to be turned in at the end of the semester, which I had done, but I was given an "I" for completing the coursework. Had to involve academic affairs+department head. Avoid at all cost

Terrible teacher. Extremely boring, only sees his views, and terrible at explaining what he is looking for. Classes were unbearably boring, and had no real direction. Pointless class.

Schlosser is laid back, and you have to force straightfoward knowledge out of him, or else he'll talk in circles. Tends to teach by showing videos and lecturing. Has you buy his cd with readings on it, and as long as you do the journal entries you should be fine. Don't recommend the class though.

Very kind professor; however his "syllabus" is extremely vague. He is very unclear in what he wants and consistently contradicts what he says from student to student. It is apparent that he is extremely intelligent in the field; however it comes across as though is he lost in what or he wants to communicate.

This is "the dude", if he had a kid with a hippy he is very liberal but very entertaining. He is unintentionally one of the funniest teachers I've ever had yet he's a pretty good teacher. He drinks his herbal tea every morning. He also uses a book that he sort of wrote thats on a CD I say sort of because he just took different things from 6 books.

He is an extremely poor professor. His views are very slanted and he talks about his political beliefs that have no class bearing. Incredibly difficult to get a hold of, syllabus is unclear and assingments are very unclear. He seems to know his field and asks students to be open minded, but he remains very close minded.

Worst teacher ever!!!! Doesn't recall what he goes over. He talks in circles and the notes he hands out are pointless. He takes attendance which is the only reason to go to class. It took him 20 minutes to tell my class to get into groups. Going to class was painful and a huge waste of time

A self taught type of class. Easy grader but class time is a bit painful. Hard to hear, sometimes looks as though he is talking to himself. Do the journal's and your golden!

He was so boring. He is impossible to contact outside of class. As long as you attend almost every class and do his 12 journal entries he gives you a fair grade. The journal was alot of work and i bet he didn't even read it.

12 Journal entries, one group project, and a final reflection of the class. Easy assignments, but just a lot of writing and reading. He's got some good stories, but can be monotone. Visit with him outside of class and start a friendship with him, and you'll be golden, hes just an older guy who if u give a chance, you may learn something. I did!

I don't reccomed his class to anyone! He is very hard to get in touch with. Doesn't respond to emails. The syllabus was very unclear, and only had a months worth of work on it. When I asked for the rest of the work, he said he would give it to me at a later date, and never did. I had to email everyone in the class to see if anyone had heard from him

Worst class ever. IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. NEVER responds to emails. Truly a horrible professor. His syllabus is UNCLEAR and does not make any sense. I had such difficulty with him I dropped the class because of his inability to answer my questions (He never responded to my emails). I would NEVER recommend ANYONE to take him EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Intro to Philosophy was a class I was already dreading. He was pretty much out of his mind, and completely unclear. He made his own cdrom for the book which i never bought. I only used wikipedia for synopsis of each reading. Had to write this illusive journal for the entire grade. He was literally out of his gourd and forced opinions on class.

This professor is impossible to get in touch with. He doesnt respond to emails. He uses a cd rom that he made which he is making profit off of his students which is ILLEGAL. Never ever take this teacher for anything. He will ruin your semester and your life. He should be fired and Im not sure how he is still teaching for doing ILLEGAL things.

Nicest, sweetest, most genuine guy you will ever meet in your entire life. But boring as sin, and loves to talk. He is basically a burnt out old hippie, very liberal, laid back, and willing to listen and make changes to classes if students wish. He is hard to follow because his head is in the clouds most of the time. But again, nicest person ever.

I am generally a good student, but this class was SO boring. He likes to talk politics. He made a comment in my class that maybe America deserved the Sept. 11 terrorist attack! After that, he lost me totally. He expects that everyone is there because they all have deep-rooted interest in philosophy.
