Professor Lore is a great guy and shared some great personal stories/life experiences with the class. I would try to buy the assigned book used or borrow it from someone. I wrote around 4 essays in this class, a normal amount. Not the easiest nor toughest grader. Returns feedback late. This class was pretty chill, but don't go on your phone.

He is a HORRIBLE teacher and doesn't understand complex writing. He thinks that essays should be very simple and less words especially when it comes to a word count. Doesn't give good feedback at all. If you're okay with a C or below go ahead and take it. But if you want an A or B you should consider another professor.

Always get your moneys worth. If you take this class, you're literally exchanging money for unnecessary stress. Teaching methods are questionable and essay criticism is worth $0. Class, homework, and test instructions are written very unprofessionally. I'd rather spend $1000 on bottled water than on this professor. Please be careful and mindful.

The book(s) he assigns for you are mandatory to buy since you DO use them; however, I would recommend maybe taking it with a friend and sharing it since it's not so much reading that you need your own. But do make sure to read or at least skim the reading he makes you do. There was about 3 or 4 main essays we wrote. You work in groups a lot to edit

I took the Sci-Fi Fantasy course and we read about 5 books not including all the short stories. He's really nice and is very passionate about the subject. Besides from all the reading the class wasn't that hard

He takes forever to grade assignments and doesn't give great feedback after. Don't take this class if you're lazy, you will most likely miss a lot if you skip class. Gives lots of homework assignments as well -- reading practically everyday.

He's really caring and thoughtful. I just don't like how he's so last minute on his grading. I thought I was doing pretty well with a 95% in the class. However, my grade dropped 15% over the break. Because of this last minute grading, I never got the opportunity to raise my grade. I wouldn't recommend unless you like last minute grade drops.

Besides having to write essays and edit them throughout the semester, it's a great class. A lot of students tend to find that he talks a lot but all the stories and side things he says (while staying on topic) are interesting and can even be funny. Not a hard class to pass, and it's easy to get an A if you do everything/turn it in on time.

Prof Lore is a nice and flexible but he assigns more works than he can grade and takes forever to return them. He also doesn't provide very clear instructions which can create unnecessary stress. Avoid if you can.

Honestly, Craig is one of those professors that if you show him you REALLY care about writing-- if you are struggling-- he'll make you write very better than ever before. Don't try to fool him, he knows what to look for. He will forever be credited by making me a better writer. Go to office hours... dont be afraid to ask for help! Great guy.

Don't get me wrong because I really think he means well. But Craig is pretty awful teacher. Very inconsistent as assignments came back graded with either a letter grade, a percentage, or a check/check plus system (which is still unclear). Won't have any homework for 3 weeks, then he'll assign 4 things due on Tues. Avoid if possible.

I loved Professor Lore. I will be taking his English 2 class next semester. He isn't high on the difficulty scale; he's more about learning than stacking books on your plate to read. I can see he truly puts in effort to his lectures, because he usually starts out with something interesting and somehow ties it into what we're going to learn. Awesome

Professor Lore is a very nice man, and cares about his class. However he is an awful teacher who rambles on about very irrelevant information. Overall not a very good class.

He is very knowledgeable about critical thinking & writing, but I thought his assignments were awkward & random. He based the entire semester's work around food topics, and (IMO unsuccessfully) tried to relate it back to the class. His lectures can be interesting, but he tends to ramble off topic. He's a nice guy & will help you out if you seek it.

He has less essays due than other professors, but he grades tougher. Sometimes, his lectures doesn't relate to the topic, but it is very interesting. He talks a lot about his running career, which is interesting and he relates to writing. His lectures are interesting, because he talks about other things, then he relates it to English.

Homework was due nearly every day we met. He's not keen on tardiness and is really big on attendance. He does not accept late work. I wish he was more explicit with what he wanted in regards to homework assignments. This class is not an easy A, maybe an easy B or C type of class. Be prepared to write! Also, no final!!

Lots of short readings and homework, BUT all of the content he teaches and has us write about is based on legitimate modern-day issues, so at least it's interesting! No tests, just a few in-class essays. Essays are due in partsdrafts, so you rarely find yourself writing the entire thing the night before (more manageable) Great professor overall

Hands down the worst professor I have ever had. Never got papers back, I got one back with a 0, which needed a electronic submission because he thought it was too good, so he came to the conclusion that i cheated when I actually wrote it 2 hours before handing it in. When getting it back i received a D-, which is ridiculous. Part 1/2

Make sure to not underestimate time because the workload is often an ouch. Expect to read an entire book in only 2 weeks and a half with plenty of quizzes on it and a 10% of grade in-class essay about it. Expectations are unclear, and you must communicate well with him to understand what is being asked. But h/w not too hard; just understand him.
