Comment:
Craig is rude, condescending, and pretentious. I usually LOVE literature but being on his class makes me hate it this time around. He uses his role as a professor to feed his ego and will gladly stand at the front of the class and purposely put you on the spot to make you feel embarrassed. Dont recommend him at all. Incredibly rude professor.

Craig is a great professor overall, learned a lot about grammar and writing techniques. Hard grader, and doesn't update the blackboard site (grades section) at all. But his monotone humor and mispronunciation of words make the class pretty tolerable.

Mr. P is amazing. He was very nice to me and he helped me out a lot with my essays. As an ESL student I was a bit scared to have him because of the rumors, but he ended up being one of my favourite teachers. If you care about your grade and meet with him for advice HE WILL HELP YOU SOOO MUCH! Lazy people will not pass his class.

Film & Literature Adaptations. Good: (1) Honest & thorough feedback (hand stuff in on time). (2) Lectures are informative. Somewhat well structured. Neutral: (1) Write a lot for tests & cram content in 4 pages for essays. Bad: (1) Can be impolite and confrontational. Teaching style was decent, but his attitude didn't make me enjoy this class.

Likes to ask questions, then laugh at students' answers. Ask for clarification? He will mock and laugh. Knows his stuff, but is not meant to be a teacher. Probably more suited to write book reviews, but his sadistic personality does not fit with what a great teacher should be made of. Definitely not. Would not recommend the GAS program bc of him.

while he is a good teacher, he is pretentious, condescending, and unapproachable. He LOVES to ask questions that he knows no one will know the answer to, simply to further prove how smart he is. All in all, a good teacher in need of an attitude adjustment

All of the positive reviews here are must be written by Patterson himself because he is rude and disrespectful to his students. He has a lot of knowledge but needs to address his students without ridiculing them Without them, he would not have a job at Humber College. Brush up on your people skills & find other ways to feel better about yourself

Craig is a tough cookie but a smart one. He understands literature and writing effectively, and the only reason why some students don't like him is because he can smell bs a mile away in your essaysexams. Truly a very intelligent professor - if you actually TRY in this class, you'll love him

This man enjoys listening to his own monotone voice. He likes to burden and contest as opposed to challenge, as this validates his role to himself. He is a spastic, dry, unlovable, reptilian. Avoid if you can, otherwise be prepared. He is prejudiced and if you are not amenable enough, you will see it in your grades.

A very demanding professor. If you show that you are willing to work, take notes, ask questions, and pay attention in class, then having Craig Patterson will be great. If you don't do any of that, then he will be your worst nightmare. Overall, he's exactly the kind of professor that every serious student wants.

If Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore and Hugh Laurie from House morphed together to assure that students read literary essays with a dictionary in hand, and worse shoes without logos then that man would be Craig Patterson.

He is a very intelligent man with very interesting comments on most of his course content. He comes off like a grouch but after awhile you grow to enjoy him. He is not as hard of a marker as you would assume and is willing to edit/review your essays several weeks in advance. Good teacher

Imagine if Gregory House went studied literature, instead of medicine and you would have Craig Patterson. Very intelligent, very clear and helpful when asked for help. If you don't have thick skin, avoid him. He's quick to pick on slackers and idiots. If you like offensive, dry humor, you'll also find him funny. Great professor.

this man is full of himself. If you take good notes and don't say much in class unless asked you'll do alright. Kind of funny to watch him pick on students but I would hate to be the target of his wrath.

While he is a good teacher and a good marker, he leaves much to be desired as an individual. He is rude and arrogant and often picks on people who do not participate in class discussions. He also doesn't offer very good constructive criticism regarding essays etc.,I have very low standards for professors and even he fails hard at them. Avoid him.

Kind of a grumpy-boo. Can be very funny. Some said he's pretentious, but I think that has more to do with the way he speaks. I don't think he was pretending to be something he wasn't. But he's holding alot of anger and sadness. Maybe that's why he's mean. I can see it in his face and all over his body. He smokes alot too. Poor guy. *hug*
