She took long to grade essays. I worked very hard on my papers and did not receive anything more than a 83% with extra credit. She graded me based on her beliefs. Did not agree with my beliefs and made it known in the feedback. By accident, gave me another student's paper with MANY errors and they received a 88% on the same essay. NOT A FAIR GRADER

Absolutely loved this class! As an older student returning, great class to refresh long lost skills. Professor Clark is funny, dedicated and will be sure to engage the entire class. Do not take this class if all you hope to do is sit quietly and go unnoticed! If you can't part with your cell phone, this is not the class for you either.

This woman is relentless. A 3 credit course you need to put about 10 credits worth of work into. You take this class to learn more about African American Literature but this teacher will push it down your throat. Get ready to have a lot to read and write per week. An elective? no this is preparing you for a full degree in literature and writing.

Fantastic professor, but she's not for the faint of heart. You won't get by if you don't use analytical thought in your assignments. She's very loud but very passionate about what she teaches. She demands more from her students and doesn't give away grades. And yes, she will call you out. The book is necessary to bring to class. Do not take online.

I took English because I had to. I never expected to actually like the class. Prof Clark brought the energy every night. Since it was a night class, if she didn't I would have fallen asleep. She made the material interesting and always let us find our own voice.

Did feel "belittled" on day 1 but an email cleared things up. She doesnt mean to come off that way, shes just passionate. She can indeed be loud, and definitely will call people out. The class took some work & a lot of time but it wasnt very hard. The lectures felt long and boring, but as a person, shes alright & can be helpful when u need her 2 b.

I took her African American Literature class and felt thoroughly educated after the fact. We had weekly readings and she makes the class interesting with her eccentric personality. The essay exams weren't bad at all with around 5 questions. With my class, if we took the midterm and passed then we wouldn't have to take the final.

Mrs. Clark's class was ok, but taking it online during summer term was not a good idea. Not only were there a lot of essays due back to back, but it took forever for her to grade the papers. One thing I did like about the class is that she makes you earn your grade, she doesn't just "give grades out".

Ms.Clark's class was not hard, but it was very time consuming. There were a lot of essays due in a short amount of time over the summer. The main complaint that I have about the class is the amount of time that it took for her to get grades back. Sometimes weeks went by without the papers being graded.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. She has such an amazing view on the world and she definitely opens her students eyes to ways of thinking they have never experienced before. She has a great sense of humor too!

Professor Clark is a good teacher, but it depends on your personal learning style. She is boisterous, loud, and occasionally down-right obnoxious. Yet, she keeps it exciting and interesting. She does not give 100% on everything, that is inaccurate. She grades fairly and wants her students to strive to do better. I enjoyed her class.

Easiest class I ever took. The assignments were pointless. Her lectures were extremely boring and painful. I'm not sure if she actually read my essays because she gave me a 100% everytime, who knows. Maybe if you just get on her good side. Dont take this class if you want to be prepared for English 102.

Mrs. Clark was one of the best teachers I have had. At first I didn't really know how to take her, but once you get to know her, she is very nice and down to earth. She likes to "Keep it Real" with the students, but alot of fun too. I have been waiting to see when see is teaching my next english class because I don't want anyone else!

I still remember the literature class that I took from her in the winter of 05. Mrs. Clark is an example of every teacher at Columbus State, and she is a way ahead of delivering!!
