The most exciting class I've taken at Chaffey College with the most dedicated professor. He looks like a difficult teacher but he is not. He will help you after class if you ask him. The lab exams are a piece of cake and for sure you will pass his class. I strongly recommend this professor.

Professor DesLauriers is one of the best professors I have had hands down. cares about students future and is very passionate about biology. pay attention to his stories as they are on exams and really do help you understand a lot of the hard stuff that comes with this subject.

Awesome professor. He is very passionate at what he teaches. He will use a lot of analogies in his class and your job will be to associate them with the biological processes that micro teaches. Overall he is a good professor and I strongly recommend him for microbiology.

He is so awesome! He truly does care about micro and cares about his students. His assignments are easy. He will sit down with you personally until you understand the material. It is a lot of work though. Pay close attention to his lectures, don't fall behind, don't miss class, and you will pass easily. He's a wonderful professor

Watch your GPA drop significantly or ever see your chance to get into nursing school. He lacks structure in his lectures. A day consists of vague drawings on the board - etch a sketch gone wrong and stories about his life (that has little to do with bio). There's much to say when half of the entire class dropped. Save your future, take someone else

It is refreshing to have a professor who is passionate about his subject. I found the t/f difficult. As for the pepper, age should not be a factor! Bring a recorder to lecture as he tends to go quickly and approx 80% of lecture is on the test. Be sure to attend every class or be left behind!

absolutely my favorite teacher of all time... he was very hard, but made me think, which I really appreciated. Yes, the true / false / falser portion of his tests were very hard, but you learn so much... He has a passion for what he does and it shows... I highly recommend his class if you are pursuing a career in health science.

He knows his material very well, but his exams are very hard. Tape Record all his lectures, especially his life stories examples or you won't pass his exams. He doesn't use the book as much only for pictures or diagrams. His T/F questions are killers. Don't missed any lecture or you will miss a lot of material

One of the best bio teachers @ chaffey. He doesn't use the book as much so you have to attend class. His lectures were fun & interesting because he's a weird one. His T/F are killer but he's very helpful and will go over any questions you have. Does compare bio to cars but gives you 7 other examples also to make sure you get it, highly recommend

Even though I drop this class cause of a low grade, I do not regret one day of going to his class. This guy is genius, knows everything about physiology. If you want to learn physiology, take him even though in my opinion his exam T/F are just not fair. He even said that he only gave like 10 As in his whole tenure in college. Good luck!

I took him for lab in the summer and he was the best! very helpful funny and friendly. i have taken alot of science classes at chaffey & he has been by far the best though you do have to study hard just like any Bio class take him if you can for the lab

He was one of the best teachers I had at Chaffey. I did very well in his class because I studied hard, read, took notes, asked questions and attended every class. It is definitely a class for mature, determined students who have a work ethic.

Horrible! I've never been so unmotivated by a teacher. He rambles about nothing pertinant for 2.5 hours of a 3 hour class. He talks down to everyone, has no office hours, and his tests are extremely hard. If I didn't need this class I'd drop and take it with a better professor next semester.

OK so if you are looking for the easy route STOP! His tests are about as hard as they get. Expect to study your butt off, go to every class and Lab and read everything available. I don't care if you have straight A's in every other class...don't expect an A with DesLauriers. Half the class dropped by the end. You probably will too, VERY HARD!

He is a great guy, but in the classroom he isn't structured. All lectures are pictures that he draws about systems and functions. I am more of a note taker along with pictures and he doesn't do that. Sometimes unclear about things. Tests are HARD! If you enjoy Bio take him, If you need structure AVOID him!

Lectures were clear since he has 25+ years experience. However, he unrelentlessly marks points off & doesn't care to really explain why even if your answers sound like they're straight out of the text. T/F ?'s are impossible & make up a large portion of your grade. Forget this class; take it at Valley or in summer if you want to get into a program.

I took his biology class a while ago and it was a relatively easy A. He kept everything interesting and I learned a lot. If I take a bio class again I would definitely take him.
