My worst class ever. I'm a straight A student and this class was confusing and difficult to understand. Samler jumps too much in her notes, in her lectures and in the chapters in general. If you can switch teachers or take another class.

Samler is definitely a "writes-on-the-board" type of teacher. She's professional and loves what she does. Her tests are not fun to study for, but she has study guides that tell you exactly what will be on the exams!

Bio 2 is tougher than Anat/Physio, and all the other science classes at DSC. I was shocked! Samler is great at spending extra time with you if you go to her office. Fair grader. Just a shock to most students how many different things you have to know for exams.

Dr. Samler is easy going, approachable, helpful and willing to guide you to getting an A. She gives study guides before exams too (major help for tests). The course requires some work, but it is doable. She is better than all other bio teachers on Deland campus.

She is a real biologist. She loves this subject, and she will expect you to put in effort for the course. She really loves botany and ecology, and will go over it extra detailed. Lots of office hours, very helpful and she grades fairly. I recommend her.

I avoid this professor like the plague. Although she provides you with adequate information, she seems more interested in what she learned 100 years ago than what is current scientific knowledge. After getting scolded by her for using information I studied from 3 sources for my medical entrance exam, I realized she wasn't the teacher for me, ever.

I've had Dr. Samler's class for a couple months now, and I think a lot of reviewers here have really misjudged her character. She can be stern and maybe even a little intimidating, but she's a nice lady and willing to help with any questions you might have. Her class isn't easy, but if you study hard you'll do well.

Bio 2 is about as complex as a 2 year college has to offer in the Sciences, so this class will not be easy with any teacher. Dr. Samler is great at going over only the info of value, and will paint a clear picture for you. Her tests are intense, and you will have to study hours upon hours, but that's this course in general. Take her.

If you attend class pay attention and write notes then you will be fine. If you are one that doesnt like to attend class then this is not the professor for you. I am normally not a good test taker however this professor does offer extra credit on all of her test so if you know majority of the material you will do fine!

I loved Dr. Samlers classes. I had her for Bio and for Bio Lab and would recommend her as a teacher. Her classes aren't super-easy, but if you actually put the time in to study, you will be fine. The tests in lab are pretty difficult if you don't study! She does field studies that are super-fun too! I would totally take another class with her!

I'm taking Dr. Samler for Bio and Bio Lab. I really enjoy both classes, but especially her lab class. Dr. Samler really loves biology and it shows in her classes. This class is very challenging and you HAVE to study for her weekly tests and quizzes, but do the work and you will do well!

This professor is unbelivable. I'm honestly shocked she received such a good grade. Let me just say I am in her science majors class, and im failing, I have a 3.8 GPA and I will probably withdraw from this class. She gives quizzes every week and half the time it's on subjects she has yet to cover!

While she explained things well and was willing to go over things if you didn't understand, she also treated us like we were ten and planned on cheating on every assessment we took. I felt that I was being talked down to about half the time. She does know the material and isn't a bad instructor, just be ready to be treated like a fifth grader.

OMG i never knew anyone so monotone as this teacher besides ROGERS. Class is difficult to keep up with yea requires alot of hard work and studying but like she says in the beginning and in the class syllabus its NOT FOR MAJORS. Its being taught like i am goin to be the next scientist...UM NO!!! Crappy class
