Dr. Tree is a good teacher. He really wants to drill only a few concepts into the student's minds. ... At least in 321. If you couldn't easily explain how to do every single HW problem, you're going to get rocked. It's that simple. If you know your stuff, the tests aren't that bad. If you're understanding is lacking, you'll fail exams.

Dr tree is an awesome teacher. He knows the material extremely well. The homework assignments are due once a week and takes some time. Study the homework and class notes to do well on the tests.

I'd take a bullet for Dr. Tree. The class was superbly taught, he had fair grading procedures, and was extremely helpful in person. Homework load is generally moderate depending on how well you understand the material. Exams are thorough but fair. Don't take Thermo from anyone else!

Great class! Great Prof. He probably more invested in helping students learn than any other professor, but you have to put forth the effort. I liked him so much I took his fluids class (ME 312), internal combustion engines class (ME 425), and his intermediate thermo class (ME 521). IC Engines was awesome.

Took Thermodynamics from him. Loved the class, and his teaching style. It's challenging, but you will learn a lot. He is a reasonable teacher who is really interested in the success of each student. I would highly recommend him.

Great teacher, really cares about his students. Make sure you go to class and pay attention, he does a bunch of quizzes but always lets you know ahead of time what you should know. Homework is pretty resonable and if you do it all you will do well in the class.

I took Internal Combustions from him and I really enjoyed the class. At times the homework wasn't clear as far as what to do, but he always clarified it and helped as much as possible.

This class on Internal combustion engines was great. I appreciated Dr. Tree being a friend to everyone in the class. I felt like I could ask even dumb answers and get a detailed response. His true love is Diesel engines. He even was willing to give advice on grad schools, programs, etc.
