Dan is funny, passionate, and intelligent. BUT he doesn't lecture very much & isn't very clear-cut sometimes. He's kinda difficult to please and a hard grader, but if you're smart, engaging, a good writer, and are fond of weird films, you'll pass. Would take him again, but he should utilize powerpoint or something in the future for lectures. :P

Dan has been nothing but unfair to me in the two times I have taken his classes. I have never given him any reason to be rude to me, but he always is. He actually told another student he expected me to fail. Also, he told me I did a good job on a test (A material I believe were his words) and I got a C. I wouldn't recommend.

Great professor. A good deal of reading, but the dicussions afterwards are always interesting. He is easy-going and quite an interesting character. The best, and my favorite teacher at SWIC.

Dan is awesome. He does this weird throat clearing thing that's annoying but he is a great teacher. He really knows what he's talking about when it comes to film. He will tune you out if he doesn't care where you're saying but it's kind of funny and he does it to everyone. TAKE DAN!!!

Absolutely a *wonderful* class, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's on the fence about taking it. He's one of the best professors I've had, hands down. His comments are insightful, intelligent, and humorous. Expect to read a lot, and expect to get a lot out of the reading. I'll definitely be taking more of his classes in the future.
