He is very nice, laid back, and funny. His lectures are very interesting, but tests are quite difficult (they are multiple choice). You have to read the book as well as the lecture notes because they are both fair game for the tests. The reading material from the book is a lot to read.

I've taken two classes with Dan and they've both been incredible. He's very laid back and sympathetic to students needs. the class atmosphere is lax and comical! it is benficial to go to lecture, although not required, but he gives out random attendance points and some lecture notes are on the test but not in the book.

I loved Dan so much when i took Social Problems that I took him again for Deviance. He's so much fun, and whether you're liberal or conservative, he'll really open your eyes to some problems that need to be dealt with.

Class is great..but tests seem tricky (and I went to lecture) make sure you study even though the info looks as it may be common sense! Dan is an awesome teacher.. but you might get offended if you're a conservative :) haha like I give a****, I'm liberal as hell! Good luck.. highly recommend!

Dan is awesome,lectures r not that boring although early&he plays music before class, has a good sense of humor. A couple of suggestions: Lecture isn't necessary but its good to go, do NOT miss participation activities, they affect u! Just read the book. PROF+CLASS is HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED! =0)

i thought this class was very easy, but still interesting. we watched movies (some of my favorites) and the lectures were interesting. This guy is a great teacher, im sure it helps that he's young. I wish he taught upper level soc courses.

Dan's a good guy who makes the class fun by prompting lots of discussion. His tests are rougher than expected for such a laid-back guy. He goes straight from the text, so don't worry about missing a few classes. Overall, I would recommend him.
